Island may cause excessive happiness and spontaneous hula dancing. The theming is so cool, I almost forgot I was in Irvine and not on a tropical island (until I saw the prices, that is).
But seriously, the lunch special and happy hour are a steal! The chicken tortilla soup is like a warm hug in a bowl, and the salad is so fresh, I'm pretty sure I saw the lettuce leaves waving at me.
The passion ice tea? WORTH IT. And don't even get me started on the drink flight - the Shipwreck is like a party in your mouth, and Jessica F's remake of the Big Island Ice Tea is like a symphony of flavors.
Jessica's service was top-notch, and Efran, the manager, is the captain of awesomeness. And let's not forget the basket of fries - it's like a treasure chest of crispy goodness. Ranch and blue cheese, you ask? BOTH, please.

The happy hour is the best. They make an amazing vodka dirty martini. If they had blue cheese olives it would be one of my favorites. The happy hour food is great as well. Servers and bar tenders are very nice.

Lots of parking. Great location. It wasn’t too busy when we showed up, Tuesday around 1 pm. Waited about 10 minutes before getting seated.

The front hostess was attentive, and professional. Our waiter Justin was great. He was quick, helpful, friendly, and accurate with our orders.

The restaurant looked clean, well organized, cool surfer Hawaiian theme decorations. Atmosphere is very welcoming and cool.

Our food was really good, tasty, fries were nice and crunchy. But, I am definitely not a big fan of their ranch dipping sauce. The waiter said that it is made in-house. But I just didn’t like it much, mostly the texture of it, it was runny like if it was watered down (This is NOT the case though). My wife liked it, it was just me.

Overall… definitely a good place to eat. Also, check out their happy hour!

Where to begin here.. service was fine and the only decent thing about my experience. The food and prices are where it fell short. First of all for a $20 burger my expectations are kind of sky high. I was happy to see they have impossible burger patties now, but for a $3.50 add on fee unfortunately turning a $16.50+ burger into one costing over $20. The burger is not what I imagined from how it was described and it was bland and forgettable and not worth anywhere near its price. The fries were actually the worst part and the worst fries I've ever had in my life which says a lot. Small, hard as rock pieces of fries as if from the bottom of a basket of fries made several days ago. They were also overcooked and tasted stale. Overall this Islands location and islands in general should be avoided like the plague.

I love going to Islands Restaurant with my younger brother during football season. The atmosphere is perfect for catching a game, and their happy hour is a major win—basically anytime there's an NFL game on, happy hour is going! The menu offers solid options at great prices, and we always have a good time. It's a great spot to kick back, enjoy some food, and watch football. Highly recommend it for game day!

All Island members that I was in contact were nothing short of amazing!! I tasted everyone's food at the table all were delicious!! Menu had a great variety of tasty looking dishes was impressed,I don't normally drink but I was adventurous that day and tried 2 cocktails and they both stayed true to what the menu said was in them perfect blend without being watered down,yummy!! All in all I was very impressed and believe me if you knew me and my background with the food and beverage industry I don't hand out compliments easily.Thanks for the great experience! DIANE
