이곳 주차장에서 매주 화요일에 열리는 지역마켓에 다녀왔습니다. 앵커리지 관광 팜플렛에 소개가 되어 EKLUTNA LAKE에 갔다가 앵커리지로 돌아오는 길에 들렸습니다. 생각보다 가게는 많지 않고 한 20개정도? 여기서 알래스카 천연 벌꿀을 샀는데 사실 이거말고 살만한 건 없었다. 굳이 꼭 가봐야할만한 곳은 아닌듯.

Alcoholics run this asylum. It’s one thing to have a safe place to allow military veterans to drink. It’s an entirely separate conversation to allow, tolerate and rationalize widespread binge drinking and daily drunk driving posing a threat to the community as a whole. Considering military personnel are tasked with protecting our nation and respective communities, not living in a bottle daily and driving home drunk daily! So much drinking that an intoxicated executive officer assaulted a former employees’s child on post property without consequences. This posts membership were more concerned about the drunk adult than the assaulted child! Total disgrace to any military service legacy. Your job was to protect our nation and respective communities, not put it in jeopardy through unaddressed addiction issues. This post is NOT child friendly. This post does not hold its members accountable for illegal activity occurring on premises.

If you come to Anchorage, well Eagle River. This is must see and visit. I was honored here by them and the ladies from Quilts of Honor. Everyone is so friendly. Inside is beautiful. Best VFW Iv ever been to. The cmdr is. Great guy. Welcomed me in like family. Awesome.

I’m a veteran, was turned around for not being part of the turtle club. I was not let in, even though I had an invitation fora birthday party from a friend, while with my family. Another time they denied someone for not having a sponsor. Seems they only let in whoever they want, if they want. Don’t know if you’d call that a vfw

Just moved back after retiring from the military. Thought I would check it out. Walked in just for a beer. Was told from the lady (who was nice) that it is a members club and I couldn't be served. Showed my retired ID and was told I would need to be sponsored and I couldn't be served. Rules are rules but seemed like a pain so I'll take my business to OMR.

My post is fantastic. I've been told it's the nicest post in Alaska. It's a private club so you need to be a active member of the armed forces or signed in by a current member. Come on down for food on the weekends, football games and live music on Saturdays.

Definitely Alaskan. A historic Iditarod checkpoint with plenty of room for the RV. Electric hook ups, Grills, food trucks a few days a week, summer market on Tuesday's, local micro brews on tap. Great people. And of course scenic Eagle River, the mountains and easy ride to Anchorage.

Great place to hang out with interesting characters. I've only been coming here a few months sporadically and I have fun each and every time.
