My family lives in Lake Forest and we have loved coming here for the past 8 years and the food is great but for the past 5-6 months when we have been eating there and ordering out the portions have gotten significantly smaller, specifically the fries. We asked for extra curly fries on the side before the order came and when it arrived there were not very many fries. We asked for extra again and we got a laughable amount of fries for 7 people. Just think for for the prices of the food, they shouldn’t be skimping on food like this

It amazing but not bad for a quick bite. Fries were cold. Tuna melt was very average. Not a place I’d be excited to come back to but the chicken pot pie was delicious. So it depends what you order.

Elena suggested the chicken pot pie, and she was SPOT ON. My gin martini was a generous pour. The service was excellent. The little train running near the ceiling was fun. Wish I lived closer!

The Lantern of Lake Forest is a classic example of a hometown bar & grill where locals share stories over pints of cold beer & tasty American favorites.

We had dinner here while in town and enjoyed party melts, BLTs, French onion soup and ribs. All of the food was exactly what you’d expect: tasty and fresh.

The atmosphere was relaxing and casual. The service was amazing and friendly.

I recommend the Lantern of Lake Forest if you’re looking for a casual, hometown Bar & Grill.

I'm glad I got something healthy & satisfying all in one place ?. A turkey burger & chicken taco salad for a reasonable price. Excellent table service, I would be sure to come back!?

Great place to go after a Lake Forest sports game. We came here after watching the Foresters hockey game and had some drinks and food. The free popcorn was a great start and we also got wings, cheese fries, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. I would recommend the jumbo Michelob Ultra.

Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders and fun overall place to be.

Taco salad was actually pretty solid. Stopped here while out on a 50 mile bike ride. The taco salad was decent and refreshing. I wish the beer menu would have been a bit more impressive. The waitress was really good at helping decide what to get. I'm positive I've been here when I was stationed at Great Lakes many years ago. The back patio was awesome too by the way, I kept the bike right next to me.

Quaint little restaurant that looked to be the spot to be on a Thursday evening. Service was great. Recommend the Italian sub.
