I've been going to Big Steve since he had his shop in Marysville. I was 18 the first time I got a tattoo here, making it 5 years that I've been getting tattoos by Big Steve exclusively, so here's my experience. (Scroll to the bottom for a bullet point shortened review.)
I'm always welcome. Always. I could be stressed out or nervous AF and Steve is always kind. He provides a welcome, relaxing environment even for those with social anxiety.
He's always accommodated for me. Bathroom breaks. Standing/stretching breaks. Scheduling an appointment based on my time preferences. He's super chill.
Not only is Steve kind, but Justin is as well. I've never gotten work done by Justin, but we talk every time I see him, and he's even offered to go get me food or drinks when I'm in the chair. Ian is also great and fun to talk to. As I haven't gotten tattooed by Justin or Ian, all I can say is they are both kind, welcoming, and the artwork I've seen by them is awesome!
Speaking of artwork, Steve is always amazing at coming up with designs. I could simply tell him my idea and he comes up with great work, plus he's always open to changing the piece to my wants. He always gives his input on how a piece will look on the body part I choose, and makes adjustments to the art based on the size of the tattoo and placement. I trust him and his experience as a tattoo artist to give me a great looking tattoo that looks as good on my body as it does on paper/screen, and he always pulls through.
Steve has done both color and black ink work on me, and as a person who tans a lot, these have held up wonderfully!
Pictured is my latest piece right after the appointment. Clean lines. I love his shading. This piece mirrors a set of Jack-o-lanterns which are also set up as Comedy and Tragedy masks, and Steve got them lined up perfectly. I like symmetrical (different designs, sized the same, on the same spot of my body parts, e.g. ankle tattoos of the same size but different designs on each) and he has done a great job pairing up 12 designs!
I've gotten 14 tattoos by Steve, and each experience has been great!
I was a bit worried about the new location (I have driving anxiety) but getting in the parking lot, parking, and getting out of the parking lot were a breeze!

I’ve been going to the Artistic Temple Social Club Tattoo Shop since I was 18 (as I write this, that’s almost four years). The atmosphere is always pleasant, and it’s always clean. I get my work done by Big Steve. His black ink work is mainly what he features in his book and on his Instagram, but I usually get color, and it’s always crisp, clean, and doesn’t fade. All of the artists in the shop are nice, and based on the work I’ve seen from them, I’d trust them with my tattoos (Big Steve is just my go-to). Steve’s realism is unmatched, and he’s received many awards for his work. Making appointments is always easy, and the prices are fair for the work that’s being done. If you’re looking to get a great tattoo in a clean, calm, positive environment, I suggest The Artistic Temple Social Club (and if you ever get hungry during your session, ask Justin for a snack).
