Hello hellooooo everyone , I am a regular at the Lamont library , I take my 2 kids age 7 and 7 yes they are Irish twins , my respect love and admiration fo the organization giving out the food that they provide for the less fortunate and the ladies who ain't trying to cook for they kids , last year I gave a 14 yr old boy $5 to get himself something to eat after he asked for lunch or snack and there was no more , the words that got me were " anything at all an apple sauce at least " , I gave him 5 bucks told him get get your self a soda and some mcdoubles , the kid began to let the tears flow and tell me " why are you doing this no one has ever done anything nice for me like this " , not embarrassed or ashamed he cried Infront of his friends, 4 sisters that are at the library all the time as well , at this library we don't come to read or be in a quiet environment we come to escape we come for sanctuary we all have a story to tell , we must work together , it takes a village to raise a child or something like that . This is what this place is , they have a giant connect four I don't allow my kids to play with it for the ones who like to complain about the noise . So on behalf of the parents and kids you can blame the staff not the kids for the noise that comes from that giant toy lol

I've gone multiple times for the adult coloring and painting sessions( I find it very relaxing straight out of work) There are always activities to do for children of all ages and adults. They have had multiple performing artists and authors. It is a great resource for the community. The staff is exceptional always asking if there's anything they can do Or if there's anything we need. The only downside is when parents don't pay attention to their children. Library, staff does remind children to settle down, like not run or scream But that only does so much. However, I am not counting this against the library or its staff. Safety is definitely of upmost importance.

I am a romance novel fanatic. So I decided to go to the library after work and see what they had to offer. When I arrived, there were a lot of activities going on and kids were everywhere lol. Shout out to the staff for keeping their cool. Staff was very helpful in helping me find the type of books I was looking for even with everything else going on.

This library gets 25 stars , 5 for the staff and their customer service , 5 for the effort in making the kids and adults happy with arts and crafts , 5 for providing nutrition , 5 for being clean and inviting , 5 for the librarian who keeps it together and stays professional when the craft room is full of kids , give that girl a raise for just dealing with my 2 hyper active kids. Thank you for everything .

I have an autistic son & I asked miss Karen not to sign sign language to my son she told me that they were going to continue signing to him or else that him & I had to leave the library. Mis Karen over that called the police ? (sheriff)+she had both of us banned from all the libraries in Kern County she said " we are going to sign sign sign language to him or you can't be here in the library. Mis Karen had a tantrum that day.

The librarian is very kind and helpful. I have gone in there to print, and their is always computers available. At my last visit there were some noisy kids(older like around 10-12) and the librarian quickly asked them to keep it down, which was great. This library makes a great quiet place to do homework or whatever you need to do in a clean and quiet atmosphere.
