Spent the day hiking down by St. Elmo and we wanted some good food. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. I usually like mine a little more flavorful but it was the only item on the menu!! It was good and I would go back again. Our waiter was super patient and attentive!

That was not like any filet I've ever ate! Very chewy, weird taste.... great atmosphere, friendly waitress, hostess- not so much. We fully expected to have the best steak ever, since they have a limited menu.... salad & baked potato was great. No wonder the price was low...

Mrs Becky was great. The steak was terrible, I got the 15 oz filet mignon and had the worst steak experience of my life. I ordered medium rare and it was dry with zero taste and just a pasty steak. The food was very bland.

I visited this restaurant in beautiful Buena Vista, CO for the first time today upon the recommendation of a friend in the area. The restaurant was conveniently located on Route 24 in Buena Vista, there was plenty of parking, the outside of the restaurant looked average in my opinion, no one greeted me upon entering the restaurant (and I even had to get an employee's attention to seat me after waiting for a couple minutes at the greeter's desk at the entrance), the dining room looked like a typical Chinese restaurant, was finally seated at a table (there were very few customers in the restaurant, though it was 5:30pm), the the table/booth were clean, no menu was given to me, I ordered filet mignon as it was "filet mignon special night", my server was friendly and efficient, my meal (6 oz steak, baked potato, & side salad, total: $17) was served hot in 10 minutes, my steak tasted barely "good", and the steak sauce they gave me came in a small, unmarked bottle and were terrible!, potato and side salad were fine, there was no WiFi, and the restroom was clean and didn't smell.

Wow.. I so wanted to say the filet was mouth-watering and delicious. But it was NOT. It was tough, was not seasoned, and had an odd taste. The baked potato was cooked to perfection, and the bread was soft and delicious. The service was amazing. But I wouldn't come back to eat here. Very disappointed. Only on main item to cook and it was not tasty. I doubt it was even filet Mignon.

Love revisiting a place like this… and it hasn’t changed. Perfect spot unless you are expecting big city steakhouse vibes. And our whole tab was less than a steak on the menu at Shanahans or elsewhere in Denver.

A throwback in Buena Vista serving one cut per night with fixed sides. A couple a la carte items available but that’s all. But every bite is pretty much perfect.
