We are desperate for a go to restaurant in Cave Creek so we decided to try Copper Bull.
Everything was so good! First, the music was great! The atmosphere is nice and open and they have really cool decor. The staff was super nice and on top of it!
The food was excellent! My husband had the fried pickles and I had a burger (no bun) with a salad. FINALLY, quality meat and it was actually really well seasoned! So hard to find lately.
Can’t wait to try more!

Nice place, somehow has very "mexican" items on the menu without being a Mexican restaurant? We had traditional wings which were good quality but the "chipotle" honey was just like straight up honey and went almost unnoticed. The pretzel bites and beer cheese were good, but were actually regular sized pretzels just, cut into pieces. The green chile Mac and cheese was very interesting... not sure how to describe other than if Mac and cheese was "mexican".
The live singer on saturday evening... "they" were very unusual and got old very fast.
I wanted to try the food here honestly before getting drinks but, next time I come here I would rather be inebriated, then it probably would've gotten a 5.

This past summer, the Black Mountain Tavern became Copper Bull. It still has an extensive bar, multiple tvs, and good food. It's the same location, so still no patio with a view, but I really like the new look with the wood up the walls and bull decor sprinkled throughout.

We didn't have big enough appetites for appetizers, but the pretzel bites and jalapeno hush puppies walked by us and looked good. The kids shared chicken tenders and fries, and they were pretty good. Us adults shared two flatbreads: the bbq chicken and steak & blue. Both were very good. I also tried the Rosy Bee gin cocktail. It wasn't my favorite that I've had (that's just personal preference though) but it was a pretty presentation, and there are so many more to try.

This is a nice lunch and dinner option nearby when you don't want to drive all the way into downtown Cave Creek or busy Desert Ridge.

We hadn't stopped in since the name change so we decided to try their Happy Hour. We had a couple drinks, then ordered some HH munchies. First we had the hush puppies and the pretzel bites. The hush puppies were legit, especially when dipped into the cheese sauce that came with the pretzels. The pretzels were good but there weren't many of them.

After a bit, we tried the potato chips and the chicken wings. The chips were subpar as many were undercooked and rubbery. The wings were huge and good but not great. We used the leftover onion dip from the chips on the wings.

All in all, it was okay but nothing special.

We really wanted to like this new place on our first (and likely last) visit. There were scant people there at 6p on a Friday night (first red flag) but the decor was really cool. We sat immediately and Chris (bartender) was quick to come over table side and ask us for drinks.

We ordered Fried Pickles (frozen) which were a little tasty, salads (perfect!), Pesto Chicken Flatbread, Hush Puppies (returned first batch and could barely eat the replacements… way too dense), and the Pistachio Bread Pudding (allegedly homemade by Owner) which was completely inedible. It tasted like medicine and had the weight of a biscuit. I can’t believe they serve folks that “pudding.”

Overall, we found the food as being the reason we will not be going back. The atmosphere and servers deserved a much better menu with higher quality food to serve their customers.

To the Owner, frozen isn’t always better. If your Chef had a deft hand, he could hand-make MANY of the items on your menu and cause folks to come for miles to patronize your place.

I am so sorry to leave my honest opinion of your restaurant. Hope you can make it work.

I had the pleasure of dining at Copper Bull, and I can't say enough good things about it. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.

The food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a great meal, Copper Bull is the place to go. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a fantastic dining experience.

We'll definitely be coming back!

Typical bar, amazing music and service. The food was mediocre at best. Burgers extremely salty... Like the cap fell off the shaker and I love salt. Fish seemed to be from frozen, but edible. Regular fries were not cooked enough. Sweet potato fries were good. Pretzel bites and beer cheese were good. Wine choices were good and well priced especially during happy hour. Jalapeño hush puppies were good, especially dipped in beer cheese. The jalapeños were so tiny so no kick.

Very chill atmosphere with friendly staff. Drinks and food are delicious! I had a blood orange cosmo and the Bow Chicken Wow Wow. Grilled chicken in a brioche bun with honey chipotle, fresh avocado, lettuce, tomato and pepper jack cheese with a side salad. We also shared an order of onion rings that were amazing!
