Traveler beware. Folks use the edge of this scenic view and stop as a public restroom. So watch your step.

Amazing view, sweeping landscapes, and fluttering TP. (The new state flag.)

The county of Huerfano needs to install vault toilets for proper sanitation. A side by side Vault toilet runs about $70,500.

They have put them in at Cuchara Mountain Park and the one at the Gardner Library. (which is always locked?)

They have a responsibility to the people and the environment.

Don't forget your rubber boots, two ply, shovel, and baggy.

A great place to get pictures of the Spanish Peaks/Wahatoya/Twin Peaks/Dos hermanos/Mexican Mountains of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in Southern Colorado. I usually refer to them as the Spanish Peaks because that's how I learned it.

In this area of Colorado there are not many Mountains this tall so it's easy to them from long distances. I like driving south on I-25 and seeing them.

This is beautiful roadside stop where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of Spanish peak. We were on our way to the great Sand dunes national park, and this spot was great to enjoy views and have a sip of hot coffee.. refreshing scenary would recommend this stop if you are on same route.. no restrooms or shades.. picnic benches are not in good shape but manageable.. if you have more time and you love offbeat road trip, from this spot there is a road which takes you to the stairs of the devil and many other scenic spots nearby..
