We tried “under new ownership and management” Brakeman’s Burgers. We ordered the Crazy Train fries and the truffle aioli sauce and the Mountaineer smash burgers. Yum!! I love the crunchy edges on the burgers and they were oh so tasty! We split the order of fries and they too were delish!! The service was great and the family atmosphere was nice. We will be returning!!

My fiancé and I enjoyed a tasty lunch here on a Saturday. We didn’t have to wait long for a table. We grabbed a really tasty Moscow mule 👌🏽. I had the mountaineer burger and added mushrooms with a side of aioli truffle sauce. We shared an order of truffle fries and loved pairing it with the aioli sauce. My fiancé order the hot chicken Sando and asked for it extra spicy and it was perfect for his pallet. We will definitely be back.

First visit for lunch. The restaurant is under new ownership and they have done a great job. The service was wonderful, our waitress was very nice, taking time to explain the menu to us and answer all of our questions. We had 3 burger lunch specials and 1 chicken sandwich and everyone in my group though the food was very good. The buns go very well with the burgers and the burgers are very tasty and cooked perfectly. You get to pick from a good variety of sauces to go with the fries, which are also very delicious!

I contemplated going back the next day, it was that good!

They also have a full bar so it would be a great place to meet for after work happy hour!

The best burger I have had in years. Fast and friendly service was a bonus that will ensure I return whenever I'm in town. There was a large party there as well, and not once was I neglected as a customer. This would be a great venue for large families or work events. (Military Hail & Farewells)

There were 11 of us enjoying a meal and companionship. The staff greeted us warmly and met our every need, including separate checks without any fuss. If a train goes by, there are $2 we'll shots with a pickle shot chaser. Great fun, as shown in the attached picture. We'll be back.

We were looking forward to trying Brakeman's.
I like a good burger and my gf wanted a salad.
When I got my burger I seriously thought that there must have been some kind of mistake. The "burger" was no thicker than heavy construction paper. (See attached photo) Even cardboard thickness would have been better!
I've had many, many smashburgers over the years... Freddie's, Smashburger, plus many random burger joints. All of those places served juicy, delicious burgers. This "burger" at Brakeman's was a thin, crunchy wafer of meat. The fact that there were two of these thin wafers didn't help.
I asked the waitress if my burger was normal, or if the cook might have gotten a bit ambitious with the burger press. She said it was normal, but that they would cook me a new one if I'd like.
I told her that if this is how their burgers are normally cooked, getting a new one wouldn't really make a difference.
I took the photo below of the middle of my burger, because according to the waitress, the edges of the burger were crispy, and the middle of the burger was the juicy part. ...ummm, no. The middle was just as thin and crunchy as the edges.
If this is the type of burger people are raving about, I guess I just don't get it.
I truly hope this burger was actually was a mistake.
On the plus side, my gf said her salad was delicious.
... and we both really liked the homemade pickles!

Mountaineer burger is incredible, along with the spicy chicken Sammie. I was shocked how tasty even the fry’s were. You can taste the quality of the products they use. Service is also amazing! Keep up the great work Brakeman’s !

Brakeman’s has some of the best burgers in Colorado Springs, no question. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was great, but honestly, the food stole the show. I finished my meal and immediately thought about ordering more—that’s how good it was. If you’re in the Springs, this place is a must-try. My only regret? Not coming here sooner!
