Enjoyed a day away from the hot days of summer in Greer and had lunch at Molly Butler. Beautiful restaurant with scenic views of the mountains and wildlife. The outside sitting area has an enormous fireplace, which must be comforting during cold weather months. There was plenty of parking and a short climb of some stairs. We were seated immediately and had our drinks in no time.

In our party, we ordered the BBQ wings, which were perfectly cooked, and the sauce can be described as slightly sweet BBQ. It was sad to see nothing else came with them for the nearly $20 price, not even the typical celery sticks). Beer battered cod with French fries and a small container of coleslaw. The fish was delicious, lightly battered. The fries were average. I ordered the strawberry salad, and considering the price, I was expecting much more. I was disappointed (seems other reviews had similar experiences with their salads) when a flat, wilted, medium-sized salad arrived. There was no bread or croutons in sight, and the grilled chicken in it was scant. There were plenty of fresh sliced strawberries and sliced almonds (imo a candied walnut would pair better). The meal would have been more enjoyable had a basket of bread and butter been served with beverages.

It was quite pricey for what you get. The service was friendly and the decor was beautiful.

Let’s just start off by saying the pasta and bread was delicious.

Now that I got that out the way, the beers were reasonably priced for the area at $6.24 a cup though the meal was a bit expensive at $22 for a single plate of pasta no matter how good it tasted. Now the apple pie, is a different story, it was okay but not worth the price of almost $10 for 1 slice.

What made the pricing worth while was the view and the atmosphere of the location.

My only real feedback to the restaurant is to remind servers that guest do pick up on the “fake” personalities and some would truly rather have them not be so “fake happy”. Just be cool, calm, and respectful…don’t try so hard to be this overly happy person when it’s clearly easy to tell you’re trying so hard.

The steak and salmon was cooked to perfection. Paired with some tasty cocktails and a beautiful fall atmosphere, tnid place is perfect for any occasion.

Great customer service and atmosphere. The waitress dress very attentive and excited to be working there. Very quaint and the view was amazing watching the elk come in. We enjoyed happy hour on the deck.

We ate Thanksgiving dinner there yesterday, November28, 2024. The food was scrumptious (inadequate of a description, but words really can't do this menu justice). We had butternut squash soup topped with roasted pecans (could have just had the soup it was so good), ham (which melted in your mouth), turkey, green been casserole (fresh green beans), sweet potatoe casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, a dinner roll and pecan pie. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly. The portions were big enough that I ate my fill and brought home a container of food. The food (ham, turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing and dinner roll) was this morning's breakfast for my husband and me. I will mention we sat with Wink and Gerald. Wink is the great niece of Molly Butler who started the lodge. Sandy and Irene were the perfect, friendly and fun hosts. They, Sandy and Irene, own and manage this historic restaurant. The
experience of eating at such a historic lodge is to be treasured. The scenery
is beautiful just in case you wondered. I saw the desert bighorn sheep about 2 miles before the lodge on the road from Rt 260.
