Holy smokes! The food here is phenomenal. We got the Half Sampler with pork belly, burnt ends, chicken, and pulled pork. For the sides, sweet potato casserole, tots, mac n cheese, and corn bread. Every bit was cooked to perfection. The sauces were perfect, even the ghost pepper BBQ. All good

This review is a painful one for me to write. Georgia Boys used to be one of my favorite local restaurants to frequent. I've been here on my birthday a couple times. I even bought a hat. However, there has been a noticeable decline in service and value over the last year or so, and my visit last night was the tipping point for me.

To be clear, the food is excellent, and that hasn't changed. I have zero issues with anything I've ever had to eat here. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. That is unfortunately where my compliments end.

The prices have increased several times. The Crowd Favorite plate, which used to be $16, is now $20, for example. That's a 25% increase. They have also removed menu items like the Texas Two Step plate or the side of fruit (I'm still upset about that one a year later - I'd like to have at least one healthy option for a side other than broccoli).

The service from the staff has been getting noticeably worse over time. They take longer to take your order and they hardly if ever check on you while you eat, so it's not uncommon to wind up with nothing to drink until you can flag someone down.

This brings me to last night. One guest was very drunk and walking around the restaurant to random tables (including mine) and people at the bar to interrupt their dinner and talk to them. Other guests were shouting loudly at one of the TVs, which was playing the X Games. The staff did nothing about this except one gentle suggestion to the latter guests to please lower their voices a little...which worked for all of two or three minutes. It felt like I was at a dive bar and not a restaurant which costs upwards of $20 per person. I don't mind a little bit of noise, but if I had wanted a bar atmosphere, I would have gone to a bar, and it made me and the person I was with feel very uncomfortable.

I don't think I will be returning again unless Georgia Boys makes some improvements. I was a long-time customer, but no more.

We were passing though and atopped. It looked deserted from outside but surprise... Massive jammed room out of he back.

Seated immediately and staff quick to take drink orders and water. Location was casual but very clean. I had the double with sliced chicken and the hot links, potato salad and beans.

Good portion sizes, delivered in a reasonable time. If I had a criticism it would be that the chicken was a littl dry. The links were great as was everything else.

Met a client there to sign docs, ended up staying longer than expected.
Sat at the bar, the female tender was awesome.
She was very attentive and always checked in on us. Even allowed us to watch what we wanted.
Pickle spears are recommended.

Good was good, service was excellent.
Will be back!

This is probably the best barbecue you can get on the north side of town.
I highly recommend one of the sampler plates with their sausage and sauces that are on the table are outstanding.

This is a quiet laid-back place on rest with good service it's clean and the food is to die for.

There is an outside patio with umbrellas if you want to sit outside as well.

Great food. Server had a huge section. Had to be ready when she showed up, or who knows when you might see her again. The ribs were delicious! We had the slaw, beans, mac-n-cheese, and corn bread they were all excellent.

I really wanted to like this place. Food fell short despite an amazing staff and cool small town atmosphere. If you want to dine at a cool place with friendly people then definitely patronize this restaurant. If you are a true BBQ gourmand then you will be disappointed. Better off going to Nordy’s. Brisket costs extra, however it was horrible. Grey. Dry. Stiff. So disappointing. It was obviously left out. Wings and Ribs were decent. So were the fries if fresh/hot. Beans were the consistency of canned chili with BBQ sauce and meat added. Potato Salad was adequate. Overkill with the bacon. Need to include onions and pickles with each meal. Fried pickles should be chips, not spears. TBH, I will probably eat here again, but I will definitely avoid the Brisket. And, I typically enjoy the brisket at most places. 😢
