Back of house here is amazing! Food was awesome and would highly recommend the Classic Eggs Benedict!
Front of the house service is slow and almost non-existent. Feels like the servers don’t even want to be here. Took forever to get service while they were obviously standing around the server station waiting to be directed to help our table.

This place is simply gorgeous! We were traveling for the holidays and stumbled upon this place because they are dog friendly. We got lucky! Cocktails are superb. Food is amazing! Desserts are heavenly. Beautiful location too!

Enjoyed the lovely patio overlooking the creek after waiting just a short while for a table. We enjoyed waiting at the bar while a Giants game was on tv. The bartender was friendly and made a couple great drinks. Seated above the creek is completely separate from the pool area. We would love sitting inside near fireplace in the winter! Our server was friendly, kept waters filled. Food came quickly and tasted great. This is a hidden gem of a spot and we felt like we were very far from home - and we live 10 min away.

We were excited about trying a new place, but unless the front of house gets better we won't go back. We were seated right away. But after that service went down hill. No one came back to our table to take our orders for quite some time. We had to ask to give our order and then there seemed to be confusion about who would take our table. Once we ordered drinks came out so late we'd forgotten we'd ordered them. They came out after our appetizer. The waiter mentioned bringing individual plates to share the appetizer, but never did. After food was brought out we were only checked on at the end of the meal. Staff was polite but quiet and unfriendly, as if they were upset we'd arrived for lunch.
The kitchen seemed to run well. Food was fast, delicious and plated beautifully. After all this, top was included in the bill, which we hadn't seen mentioned on the menu.
We found the experience sad and even the great food didn't make up for the lack of service.

Everyone's food was delicious, the drinks were beautiful and delightful, and our server Callum was amazing.

The ravioli entrée rotates, and today (August 17th, 2024), it was a vegan ravioli that was to die for. The crème brûlée made by Callum was by far the best crème brûlée I've ever had. Absolutely perfect. Such a pleasant end to a pleasant experience.

We sat outside, and while we didn't mind them too much it might be worth bringing some dryer sheets to deter the bees and yellow jackets. But hey, when you're in such a gorgeous, natural, forested environment how are you gonna get too mad at co-existing with a few insects?

I'm excited to go back! I definitely want to try the indoor seating in the Winter when we go back (hopefully near the fireplace, but the bar and lounge-y area looks very comfortable too)!

I had left a review awhile back. Then deleted it because I felt bad leaving a negative review on a local spot. However, I felt the need to leave one again. We live about a mile away and held out hope that some changes would happen in this establishment the last 6 months we’ve lived in the neighborhood. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case 🙁

Visit #1-
Sat in the dining area on a weekday evening. Wasn’t busy inside at all. About one waitstaff to each seated table. After being seated it took almost 20 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us. At that point we gave our food and drink orders. Nearly 20 minutes after orders were taken, we had to get up and walk to the bar to check on the status of our sodas…which hadn’t been poured. Food came out, it was delicious. Bbq bacon burgers, super tasty! We finished, sat there for about another half hour before we had to get up to find our waiter to get our check. The service was horrible. Waitstaff didn’t come by to check on us once while we ate, nobody came to ask if we wanted more drinks). Food 10/10, service 0/10.

Visit #2,
Sat in the bar at a table. Couple other tables seated and two or three people at the bar. Two bartenders on staff and a waiter buzzing around the bar. Took 15 minutes to be attended to by the waiter. Took our full order. Took nearly 20 minutes for our drinks. The waiter forgot our appetizer and didn’t realize until he brought out entrees and I mentioned that he forgot the appetizer. He said he could go make it really quick…but at that point we had our food. Yet again nobody checked on us while we ate, nobody asked if we wanted refills. I had to get up and ask the staff for condiments, then again had to get up to flag them down to get our check. The entrees were great. Service, horrible yet again.

Visit #3-
We did online order for pick up. Great food per usual. Hostess grabbed it from the kitchen quickly and off I went.

Tonight, fourth and FINAL visit. We will not be back. We have tried to like this place so much but there are too many things going wrong for such a high price point menu.
Sat at a table in the bar. Three tables of two people and one single person at the bar. One bartender and one waiter working the area. Took about 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged. Bartender came over and took our order. Drink wait was fine this time, just a few minutes.
However. Entrees came out. My husband’s was fine. I ordered the special Frito Misto (see picture of the specials menu from tonight). It said it was rock shrimp, pacific shrimp and calamari. Sounds amazing, right? WRONG.
It comes out and it’s pacific shrimp, calamari and a poorly cooked chunk of some white fish. I ask the lady buzzing around the bar what it was. She told me “oh, there was a misprint on the specials menu, it’s rock FISH not rock SHRIMP.” So, when I originally ordered, the waiter (bartender) neglected to tell me what I was ordering was not actually what I was ordering. I was livid quite frankly. I would’ve never ordered rock fish. So, money down the drain. No apology from them. No offer to perhaps give me more pacific shrimp to make up for THEIR MENU MISTAKE.

We’ve tried again and again but every visit except the take out was mostly just awful. We won’t be spending our money here again. The waitstaff is less than trained and less than attentive. It’s really dang unfortunate.

Side note, their cheesecake is one of the best I’ve had.

My partner and I have been here about three times: at the bar, brunch and dinner. Each experience has been fantastic. We haven’t been for Saturday night music but we will for sure be coming back. We’re excited to be living next to such a beautiful spot!

Favorite dish so far has been the California Benedict at Brunch. Delicious!

Pictures are from our time at dinner, brunch, and at the bar.

Hung out here for a day with some friends and had a great time. The pool is super clean and a great place to hang out in a really cool mountain setting amongst the redwoods, the staff is friendly and the food was good (we just got some pretty basic poolside food from the lunch menu, we cannot speak to the dinner menu).

It might be nice to offer a membership as $25 per day per person did seem a bit steep. They did do a happy hour special from 3-6 pm however (I think those were the hours) where you got pool entry plus an included drink for $20.

Will go back for dinner someday - the inside seemed super classy. Hopefully the food quality can match that vibe.

Overall we loved the place and will be going back somewhat regularly, even more regularly if they’d offer a membership Example: $50 a month gets you $5 pool entry for yourself and one guest + 1 guest pass per month. Would only take 2-3 trips to Trout Farm to pay off. And is a nice way for the business to get some steady income.
