Popped in for something to eat. Great friendly service. Nice pub to dine.
Food excellent! Ploughman's very good. Partners club sandwich ?, crikey ! What looked like whole chicken fillets on there , she had to eat separately. Really impressed.

A lovely break away. We had the petite double Bramble which is cosy and had everything we needed with a good size bathroom and a lovely view over the village. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We had dinner both nights which was excellent with a good choice. Breakfast was fabulous. Not a huge menu but everything you would want with the staff happy to tailor to suit. We had Chatsworth tickets included which we made good use of and I would definitely recommend. If I had two tiny nitpicks they would be that the homemade biscuits on arrival were a nice touch but it would have been nice to either have them replaced or others put in for the next day to have with a cup of tea in our room on our return. The other is that I completely understand having full size bottles for the toiletries now rather than small ones but it would be better if they are refilled for each guest rather than be either half full or nearly empty. Apart from that, everything was perfect and I would recommend staying here.

A friend and I stayed for one night - occupying two bedrooms. We both felt the accommodation was overpriced for what was delivered. The bedrooms had comfortable beds and pillows. The downside is that the hotel does not provide any lounge space for resident guests to relax in. You have to sit in your bedroom. The downstairs space is fully taken up with tables for people dining. We ate there in the evening. The food was excellent and we both enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was an “average” experience. Overall there seemed to be a number of staff on duty during the period of our stay, but we found some to be far more customer oriented than others. The hotel is in a good location for walking and for visiting local tourist spots. We decided we would not book a return visit though.

Great food and well presented. The beef and ale was absolutely delicious (and a proper top and bottom pie too!), possibly the best we've ever had. The fish and chips were wonderful with hand cut chips and the fish with skin removed in a light crispy batter. Sadly we didn't have room for dessert but we will be going back. The atmosphere was quite hushed but it was a Tuesday evening and I imagine it would be a bit livelier towards the end of the week/weekends. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Staying at this lovely pub hotel is a must if visiting the amazing chatsworth house. And the package that includes unlimited access to the house and gardens is such good value. |The Dev Arms room had charming farmhouse decor with good quality features that gave us all we needed and more. Sound proofing from other guests is not the best but in an old country pub it is to be expected. |Top of the reasons to stay is the amazing food. Honestly it would grace Tom Kerridge’s hand and flowers Michelin star pub. But here is much better value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

Friends told us we would love this place and we did. Location is great, quiet village 5 minutes from Chatsworth House. A big thank you to the staff who are amazing. Every single one was friendly and went out of their way to help us. Our meal on Friday night and the breakfasts were 5 star. Our room spotlessly clean and loved the toiletries. We had a very special weekend here visiting Chatsworth and Bakewell markets.

Fabulous location and quaint pub feel to the place.
Food at restaurant and breakfast excellent quality. Only one thing which stops it being 5.
Bedrooms in separate annex and floors are paper thin. Everything happening above is audible. If you’re charging £300 a night B&B you need better quality rooms. Decor is fading and no USB plugs (which a find bizarre given how cheap they are to replace).
