This place has hands down the best Asian food I’ve had in Colorado! The tonkotsu ramen was rich and full of flavor, and the poke bowl was super fresh and delicious. The gyoza was perfectly crispy, and the avocado roll was delicious. Plus, the staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommend this place.

Great bowl of ramen but a little pricey. I guess that goes with being in a tourist town like Durango.

I ordered the miso ramen with chicken, bell peppers, and mushrooms added and it came out within 10 minutes. Very good broth and ingredients seemed fresh.

Salmon poke bowl was excellent. Tonkotsu ramen had very good elements (pork, egg—the egg was gingered, which was very interesting, and very delicious!) and pretty good elements (broth). The broth’s flavor profile was improved by adding spicy oil—but before that addition, a bit “thin”, in my opinion. The noodles were disappointing—way overcooked, not at all al dente, as they should be—but on balance, still easily a 5 star rating overall.

Great service, especially considering how busy they were.

This is a sister restaurant to Rice Monkey, and I recommend both restaurants if passing through Durango!

Hands down one of the best poke bowls I've had! The ingredients were so fresh and flavorful. There is a perfect balance to it. Just enough rice, just enough sauce and the toppings were all just delicious! 😋 and to top it all off, it came with a small bowl of miso soup that was served hot and it was all just delightful.

This place was a great little spot to visit! The atmosphere was comfy with indoor and outdoor seating(with a great view).

The staff was friendly when getting our order and food and the service was so quick! We ordered and got our food within about 10 minutes. We got the tonkatsu ramen and the takoyaki and both were fantastic! It was a little pricy but not over average for ramen. Each bowl was $18 each at the time of writing but it was A LOT of food and a lot of people around us got to-go containers.

We consider ourselves ramen connoisseurs to an extent and this was a top contender for us! We will be coming back for sure!

Another reviewer stated that this was “hands-down the best Asian restaurant they had been to in Colorado“. I feel that not only are they correct but it is almost hands-down the best Asian restaurant we have been to anywhere. And… That includes 22 years living in Hawaii, where there are a lot of Asian restaurants. There were six of us in the group so we sampled a lot of food and not one of us was disappointed with anything. If you live in Durango and have not visited this restaurant, then you really need to try it. And if you are visiting… Same thing, do not leave town without visiting Akami Poke and Noodle Bar.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I don't think the price of the food is worth the experience.  The poke was good, but I gave it only 3 stars for these reasons-
1. I would not have eaten here if I saw it while driving by and hadn't looked at the high Google ratings.  It looks like a shack and it's in the parking lot of the Albertson's.
2. (My personal bias is being reflected here). I had a build your own poke bowl with salmon.  I was surprised that it's made in the kitchen. It was good and the ingredients were pretty fresh. I want to see the ingredients and choose based on their appearance/freshness, though. That's how most poke places are, and I was disappointed and a little scared about what I was going to get.
3.  The indoor seating area was bland with no personality or interest.  The soda machine kept making noises that were annoying, loud and distracting to our conversation.
4.  The restrooms are shared with a rafting tour company next door.  You have to take a key off the wall in the dining room to go use the restroom.
