My husband and I stayed 3 days and nights in cabin 5. We loved it! It was very cozy and warm. The area is gorgeous no matter the season. The family that runs the resort is very kind and welcoming.

What a wonderful quaint little lodge and cabins! Ana, her daughter Jackie and entire family were very welcoming and friendly! We were in cabin #2 and it was perfect for our needs. The back porch and views were fabulous. If there was anything you needed Ana was there to help. The breakfast and homemade polish sausage were fantastic. Would recommend bringing your own grill and ice chest with ice as none available up on mesa.

This is not a luxury destination, but it does what it does very well. Our cabin was basic, but clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. Sitting on the deck, watching the trout in Alexander Lake hit top-water at sunset, was perfect. Anna, Sylvester, and Joe were great hosts. The “special” breakfasts were hardy and provided great fuel for a day of hiking. The prime rib with homemade horseradish (woah!) was an unexpected treat. My wife and I look forward to visiting again.

What great experience. The cabin was spotless and the beds were comfy. True to the nature of the high country in the spring we had a little snow come in the evening but everything melted off by mid-morning. We went the second to the last week of May and the lake that our cabin overlooked had not thawed, but the owners were able to give us directions to a lake a few minutes away where the fish were biting.
I would caution everyone not familiar with living in high altitude environments to make sure that you bring warm clothing (it gets cold at night) and stay well hydrated. I would also recommend calling the lodge to talk with them about the local conditions before booking.

Called Alaxander Lake lodge in advance and made a reservation for a cabin over the phone for my girlfriends birthday weekend. I arrived without a email confirmation and I was told they didn’t have my reservation. So after doing some research they found me and all of my information for the following weekend. To make it up to me they’ll give me a motel room at a discount from $160 to $125. Great but the Expedia price and the price I was quoted for the cabin was $125. Not sure about the pricing but didn’t seem like any concessions were made for their screw up. There’s a 5:30 deadline for dinner service. As I sat there waiting I noticed a family that came in at 5:35 and the server asked “can I help you?” How do you answer that embarrassing question when you don’t know about a 5:30 deadline? They responded we’re here for dinner, Dah. They weren’t kicked out but informed that it would be about an hour wait. To my surprise they excepted that. I waited for over 45 minutes for a burger and polish sausage. Too long. The next morning I walked into the lodge and was greeted by the owner, not with a good morning but she immediate looked down at my 20 oz Yeti mug and was told I’m not allowed to get coffee in that. I said it’s already 1/2 full, I just want to top it off. When I approached the coffee pot counter I saw the sign on the wall stating that “No outside coffee containers allowed.” I should’ve taken a walking tour when I checked in so I could read all of the signs, and there’s a lot that explain all the rules. When I checked out an hour and a half later I made it a point to let the girl know that telling the clients that no outside mugs are allowed is embarrassing and I dropped $10 on the counter and she said No, No, the coffee is free. Well the 8 oz styrofoam cup is but not the larger mug brought in by the customer. I know what a pot of coffee costs and it’s Pennies so because I didn’t even take that much, Really, this is what’s important after I spent over $200 for a motel room and a burger meal.
(After response from Lodge, I didn't confuse the dates on the reservation, It was my girlfriends birthday. You made that mistake and I never said I was staying two nights, I said i would think about it but I didn't have a definitive answer about it at the time of check in. If you charge my card for an addition night I'll file a dispute with the credit card company as an unauthorized charge. The correct response as a business owner would be to except some responsibility for your mistake in making the reservation and take that dictatorial sign down that prevents guests from grabbing a coffee to go with the container of their choosing. It doesn't cost that much and I promise less rules will go a long way.)

My daughter and I stopped at Alexander Lake Lodge today and the food and staff were fantastic! Some fishing pictures were exchanged and some hints on what lures to use where , may or may not have been mentioned...sssshhhh! Thank you Alexander Lake Lodge family.....We will deffinately be back.

Best winter lodge in the mesa. The owners are really nice and the cabins are cozy. Bring some slippers or Crocs for the cabins since they are rustic and the floors can be cold in the middle of the night. Have stayed there at least 5 times in the past 3 years. Always come back for more. I cannot say enough nice things about our experiences.
