Management has no values. Can't transfer lease to another complex managed by same company because this is owned by private equity. Work is transferring resident and this management company has a policy to let out tenants for a transfer fee. But since this is private equity ownership they won't honor policy.

Is this the kind of place you want to call home? Think before you decide!!!!!!!

This is an updated 5 STAR REVIEW SPECIFICALLY FOR CAMERON & BREON who are our SERVICE STAFF here at Apex!!
I want them to know (as well as their managers 🙂 that we think they are awesome!!! It is obvious they take pride in their job here. They keep the apartment complex looking beautiful and running smoothly on both the exterior and interior. They have always been prompt, trusty worthy and knowledgeable regarding every service request we have ever had AND, they are also both very kind and compassionate human beings as well! We really do appreciate them!!!

(my 1st review):
My husband and I had to make a quick move from Vermont to Boulder and did not have time to tour any apartments beforehand. I called several apartment complexes in the area and received the best customer service BY FAR from Apex.
All of the people I had contact with were helpful, but the person I spoke to the most was Jae. She was so attentive, kind and patient. She lives in the complex herself, so she could truthfully answer ALL my questions (bringing my stress level way down :). She helped us figure out which floor plan would be best for us and made the application process a breeze.
Once we arrived, Kelsey was in the office to greet us and made us (including our dog) feel right at home.
We have been here for 3 weeks now. The location is awesome, the apartment is beautiful. The maintenance crew is prompt and courteous (should there be any issues) and Gabriela, Kelsey and Jae are always available in the office with a smile!

Let me just start by saying, Caleb and Gabriella are 2 of the friendliest, professional people I have ever encountered in a leasing office. I walked in to see if I could tour one of their (absolutely stunning) apartments, and Gabriella immediately sat down and helped me, told me a bit about the apartments, and set me up to tour with Caleb later the same day. Caleb is wonderful, too and he’s super professional and knowledgeable. He gave an excellent tour of the apartments, told me everything I needed to know about the complex, and just had overall great energy. Unfortunately, it’s really hard nowadays to find friendly or professional management team members, let alone someone who is both! I don’t write many reviews but I just had to leave one in this case because I was absolutely just so pleased with how my experience went. In addition, they both made the application process SO easy and helped me out with any and all questions/issues that I had. The complex is stunning, the grounds and all common areas are extremely well kept, all of the common areas are super nice, updated appliances including the features in the community lounge area, etc. This property is extremely lucky to have these 2 and I could totally see them both being badass and managing a bunch of properties together, they would kill it. Anyways, Thank you!!!!!! You guys are awesome😎

The way this management conducts their business is not kosher at all. They can't care less about the people who pay them money. First of all, they attracted us with "all year round heated swimming pool" then they closed the pool for winter without explanation. Besides the rent you pay be prepared to pay for water, sewer, maintenance etc etc, things that a regular landlord would cover with the HOA fee, so add about 100 - 150$ over your rent. Also, you can kiss goodbye your 500$ deposit because they will deduct almost all of it after you move out (they returned 46$ to us after we left the unit cleaner than we got it). The heating broke 3 times last winter, and there is nothing they can do about it but provide you with a portable heater. The ice maker broke, and it took them over a month and a half and many trials to fix it. We had recurrent water outages. Our 1st floor neighbor had a complete flooding because the restroom overflowed during one night, the management asked them to move out and either leave, either move into a smaller apartment on the premises at the same price. The parking is hell and uncovered (you can pay more to get a covered one). The workers in the office are arrogant and unpleasant to deal with. When we signed the contract, we wanted to sign for 9 months, but one of the workers said to sign for 8 months because it was 8 dollars cheaper per month. She said that they would extend the contract for another month at the same rate without any problems. Well, the time came, and they wanted to charge us almost 600$ over the normal rate for the extra month.
In my opinion, this is a conning company that cares only about taking your money. That's why people don't leave long there. You see them moving in and out all the time.
Also, the area is a bit of a dump. Just a swamp in the countryside, it's not Boulder anymore. Oh, and it's not child friendly at all - literally nothing for kids around.
I could go on and on, but I'll just say - find something better.

Very nice place but overpriced.

There’s barely enough room for residents to park near their building let alone any guests. Be prepared to have your guests walk 3 blocks to park if they want to visit during the evening or weekend.

Staff is awesome to work with and very caring. Definitely has the personal touch and I I felt like I was valued as a resident. Staff turnover is crazy high however so don’t get too attached to any employees because they will be gone within 6 months. The resident portal for rent payment, service requests, etc was fantastic.

When I moved out the charges were more than fair, they didn’t try to nickel and dime me over anything. The rent prices however are pretty insane. They continue to raise rent at quite a dramatic rate so unless you HAVE to be physically close to Boulder don’t bother. That’s pretty much the entire reason I left.

Units are very nice and the appliances (outside of the cheap washer and dryer) were quite good. Maintenance was easy to work with. Trash valet service was much appreciated.

Good place overall if you can stomach the price gouging.

Gabriela and the Apex Team have been absolutely incredible! They are quick to respond to emails, keep you posted on work around the complex, and very sweet. Maintenance is extremely quick to respond, keep you updated on progress, and are super helpful. The amenities are well-kept and clean. The apartments are spacious, modern, affordable, and have lots of natural light. I would absolutely recommend this area to anyone looking!

I highly advise that you rent somewhere else. The apartments are fine, if not fairly expensive, but Apex 5510 and Kelsey the manager have predatory leasing practices, especially at move out. I lived here for three years and saw various changes in management, but had the unfortunate luck of moving out during Apex’s current management.

Upon move out, they charged me for cleaning fees that were not stated in the lease or the move-out instructions. They charged me for carpet replacement and supplied the wrong receipt in an attempt to have me pay more than required. And they charged me for an entire repaint of the apartment for “drywall damage” that did not exist at move-out and that they were unable to supply proof of.

When I disputed these charges, totaling well over $800, they referred the amount to a collections agency rather than explain or prove their claims.

Unless you want to go to court to dispute false move-out charges, I suggest you move somewhere else. If this is how they treated a three year resident, I anticipate they treat short-term renters even worse.

I hope management sees this. Early November, I toured the facility on a whim. I decided on a different state but I was impressed with the customer service I received.

Jay was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the facility and most of all Jay was a joy! My family felt incredibly welcomed. Jay’s experience as a recent transplant was helpful and Jay’s ability to quickly build a rapport with us is outstanding. Everything was exemplary, out of all the places I’ve visited. Jay is the best leasing representative by far! Happy Holidays to you and your family Jay!
