Today, Burgers & Brews in New River unleashed its charm, captivating me with its ease of access from the 303 via Lake Pleasant to New River Rd. This hidden gem's expansive space, complete with a full bar and patio, beckons off-road enthusiasts and trailblazers alike. Arriving near opening, we witnessed its transformation from tranquil to vibrant as more people trickled in. The diverse menu shines with happy hour, senior discounts, and weekly deals, paired with a decent beer and wine list. Our server's warmth and efficiency made the experience exceptional. The Cali Burger and loaded tots delighted, while my husband's BLT and side salad showcased the menu's versatility. Though my burger needed a kick (I love spicy), its quality was evident. It is kid friendly with food options as well as some arcade games etc . Fair pricing left us fulfilled, anticipating a lively weekend atmosphere filled with travelers and adventure-seekers.

This was our first (and probably last) visit. We were attracted by the live music and the band, ContraBanditos were great. Unfortunately the experience was dampened for a number of reasons,

- the band was playing outside and it was going to be getting pretty chilly, they don’t have any heaters, just one long fireplace. We asked to move to one of the empty tables near the fireplace but they wouldn’t do that for us.

- they didn’t bring enough cutlery and nobody checked with us until it was too late. Three of us ended up sharing one fork.

- we were a group of 3 couples and, when we ordered, we told our server how the bill should be divided. The 3 bills arrived and they were not even close to being correct.

- the menu says there will be an 18% gratuity for groups of 8 or more. We were a group of 6 and they automatically charged us 18%

Unfortunately had a bad server that started out by not greeting us and just asking if we wanted something to drink. He decided to bring us 4 waters and spilled 2 full cups of ice water on myself and my friend (2of4 at the table) and didn't even bother to say sorry, offer use towels, or even wipe the table. He said it was the 2nd time he did that and proceeded to sorta mop the floor while leaving ice cubes and most of the water (risky liability). He brought 3 drinks l, 1 wrong size, and forgot the soda for 10 minutes. Our 4 burgers were not of the normal quality, seems they switched meat and downsized. Bacon was burnt. Loaded tots were good but even when the owner was working things are not going very well unfortunately. I'd like to keep supporting local but will have to hold off for a few weeks until they hopefully can get back to their normal quality of food and service.

This place is weird. Apparently they like to nickel and dime you. Went there for the first time, as I love burgers and love to try new burger places. I ordered a burger that came with tomato. There was 1 tiny tomato slice on the burger, and I really like tomato so I asked for another slice. They did indeed bring me a tomato slice and then charged me 0.75 cents for it! Kind of laughable, actually. Especially because I ordered no onion -- there was no credit for that, haha. Overall, it was annoying because the server just added it to the check without mentioning it first.

I also ordered the fried zucchini appetizer. The server did inform me that 1 ranch sauce is included for dipping and that if I needed more, there would be a charge. The included sauce is the little tiny cup and it wasn't even full. The portion of zucchini is large, we easily shared it with 6 people. 1 ranch doesn't cut it. Okay...I guess bring me a round of ranch sauce for the table. Absolutely weird, never experienced that before in any restaurant.

And then there was a surcharge for paying by credit card instead of cash.

Overall it's just a super weird vibe and it feels cheap and off putting. The owner must be one of those really cheapskate, miser type of people, like Scrooge. It really brings down the atmosphere. The food was good, but not good enough that it's worth the hassle.

I can only imagine what happens if your burger doesn't come with certain things and you ask them to add mayo, pickle, etc. 0.75 cents per additional topping adds up quickly. Do they charge for ketchup too? If you order coffee do they give you 1 sugar and charge for extra sugar packets? Do they give you a certain number of ice cubes in your soda and charge for extra ice? This place certainly seems like they would, so if you do go, best to clarify while you are ordering so you aren't surprised like I was when the check comes.

They can keep the $4.85 in extra fees as I will not be returning.
What the management doesn't understand is that there are a zillion places to get really great burgers where they don't charge you 0.75 cents for an extra tomato slice.

We eat here about once a month and always have a good experience. The food is always hot and fresh, the service is good, the beer is ice cold, and the patio is dog friendly. Highly recommend for a good burger and a beer.

We recently discovered Burgers & Brews, thanks to a friend's recommendation, and loved it so much we chose it as the place for sons family birthday dinner. The owners and staff truly made an evening with family into an unforgettable one. We highly recommend Burgers & Brews New River for its outstanding food, drinks, and atmosphere, and amazing customer service!! We definitely found our new hangout spot!

Stopped in to see what the buzz was about and had seriously realy great burgers! This spot is a great find! Luigi was our server and it was obvious he takes pride in the food and service. We will be comming here regularly for burgers.
