We were passing through From Michigan to Austin and spent the night in Sulphur Springs. Went downtown and Had a small dinner at the Corner Grub House. I had the grilled pork chop and my wife had butter fried shrimp. The food was fantastic, beer, very cold and my wife loved her Limeade. Great service and great food. I will definitely stop here again next time we are driving through.

If you want some home style cooking to go with the hometown feel of downtown Sulphur Springs, look no further. This corner restaurant makes meatloaf the way Momma used to make it. The sides were fresh. Staff was friendly and did a great job.

Fun and friendly fare on the Sulphur Springs square. Tons of seating inside, on the square sidewalk and in an adjacent building. Plenty of really Texas-friendly servers, always busy tending tables or restocking the extensive salad bar. And the house old-fashioned is Bulleit rye which is a great start! Just wish they used more seasonings…my steak was cooked to order, one of her pork chops dry, but both needed salt and pepper. Green beans and broccoli also just meh. We didn’t try them but the cakes looked tempting.
Festive with the Christmas lights going up and service, but ended up being just a dinner.

We selected this place after we returned from a day at Canton Trade Days. There were three places that came up in a search and this turned out to be the winner. We were not disappointed. The hostess seated us quickly, the server Esme was super helpful and we had drinks in under 2 minutes of sitting down. Ordered 1/2 order onion rings as an appetizer, it took less than 5 minutes for them to arrive, they were off the chart good! Never had better onion rings. Our entree orders arrived in about 15 minutes. Everything was hot and perfectly cooked and seasoned. My rib eye was delicious, juicy and needed no steak sauce; which is my test of a well seasoned steak. The steamed broccoli was good,but a little too steamed for my taste, but still very good. Fried okra was better than average “commercial grade”, but we are used to eating garden fresh okra, nothing commercial compares. We loved the quaint, small town setting. The courthouse and downtown area is also beautiful, well maintained and makes for a nice after dinner walk. I made the comment to my wife that “I could live here. . . “. I don’t often say that. I hope someone finds this helpful. We will come back here if the opportunity permits.
