this place is a gem. quiet, relaxing atmosphere. I was so happy to see that they do reservations and they limit the amount of people attending for the day so they were not overcrowded. the woman at the desk was very sweet and professional. the changing rooms were nice. it was a full private bathroom with a shower and there was body/hair wash available to use. they carry a small amount of snacks and some drinks in the lobby as well. it was a bit of a drive to get there but it was definitely worth it. I already know this is going to be a spot I visit regularly. ♡ I can't wait to stay in one of the little cabins.

My husband and I stayed in one of the tiny houses with a private hot spring right out front for three nights over New Year’s Eve, and it was absolutely wonderful! We came prepared with everything we needed to make simple meals in the well-equipped kitchenette (we did bring a camping stove and our own pots / pans) and slept comfortably in the cozy lofted bed. The setting was clean, peaceful, and relaxing, the staff was amazing, and the night sky was absolutely breathtaking. Sunrises and sunsets did not disappoint!

As other reviews mention: yes, there are strict rules. This isn’t a party spot or ideal for groups—but they make that very clear upfront. The thorough and well-enforced rules create a beautifully curated environment, perfect for unwinding and soaking up the hot springs and spectacular views.

If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would!

What a hidden gem! Desert Reef Hot Springs is the perfect place to unwind and relax. The natural mineral waters are warm and soothing, and the mountain views are absolutely breathtaking. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene, making it a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life of Denver.

The facilities are clean and well maintained, and I appreciated the friendly staff who made sure everyone felt welcome. It’s a clothing optional hot spring, which adds to the laid back and accepting vibe of the place.

I recommend reserving your spot ahead of time since it’s a smaller, more intimate location. Don’t forget to bring water and snacks there’s plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the day.

Overall, an amazing experience and well worth the visit if you’re in Colorado. I’ll definitely be back!

I have toured almost every hot springs in Colorado, this is my favorite! It’s beautiful, clean, the minerals do wonders on your body, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing with no weird vibes allowed. Several pools to adjust your temperature and lots of sunbathing spots! Individual showers and bathrooms as well, I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place!!

Lovely place, recommend staying overnight for small crowds and private pool. Keep in mind this is a relatively primitive setup and you'll be a happy camper. Clothing optional but the steam and minimal lighting provides a basic modesty for everyone involved. They do not admit single men, which honestly is a strong point in their favor. If that's an issue I assure you there are plenty of other hot springs a short drive away.

This was our first time to Desert Reef and it won't be our last. The front desk individual was super nice and helpful and gave us lots of recommendations. We didn't feel out of place while I went naked and my wife was clothed. There was a mix of both and I'm very glad to see the rule that requires males to be accompanied by a female which may sound a bit much, but let's be honest guys are jerks and I could see that easily occurring here. However as we went to the earliest soak there were no issues or concerns. We will be back and enjoying the waters soon.

I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay we went for a standard soak.

Just went to the spa and it was perfect. If you need a quiet and relaxing place this is your spot. It's no/low talking inside so it's very tranquil inside. It's a newer facility so that was really nice as well. Will definitely return and overnight!
