Looks like there is a theme! A very small lounge for the number of people they attempt to serve. The bartender said she could make a margarita, but then handed me a glass with lemon and vodka…it did not taste good. I could tell the staff was trying to keep up, but it’s a tiny space and not equipped for much.

Sad to say, other reviews are on point. The food here is lacking. There’s not a lot to choose from, and everything looks as if it has been left out a while. The food was cold and had no flavor. The Andes mints were nice, and the coffee machine was working. There was complimentary bourbon, so that’s a plus. Other than that, this place is a total bust.

I had such a positive experience at the Escape lounge. After having a few well put together cocktails and the most enjoyable conversation with the friendly bartender, Kylie is believe her name was, I finally felt rid of the pre-flight jitters. Talk about great service. I love to see people love their job! I hope to have her serve me again on my return back to Sacramento!

This lounge was amazing! Giovanna was so sweet, personable, and kind. She made the atmosphere of the lounge so inviting and made our pre flight jitters vanish! Thank you Giovanna?

Not worth it!!! We use SMF regularly and have never used a lounge there, opting instead for the same bar and grill each time. This time, we were going on a business trip so we thought we'd splurge on a lounge. We should have stayed in the bar and grill. This lounge was the most PATHETIC I've ever seen. Tiny, cramped and TERRIBLE food offerings in the morning! Greasy sausage, reconstituted scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, undercooked potatoes and a vat of oatmeal. Gross. We would have paid the same amount at the bar and grill across the way, with reasonable portions of a wide variety of properly cooked quality food.
Additionally, the place was blasting some very loud, insipid pop music and we were seated so close to other patrons I could hear every word of their conversation. Not a good place for relaxation before a flight.
My two stars are for the excellent, friendly bartendress and the very polite front-door gentleman who made us feel welcome and was constantly cleaning up. Staff: GREAT, Experience: AWFUL

There are so many people in this Lounge! It's way more comfortable going to the restaurant directly across from it. The front desk person is not friendly, very rude. We had to add our name on a wait list for 30 minutes. Then when we went back, we were told that we missed the window to enter (that we were not even told about when we added our names initially). We had to add our names back to the wait list again, at which time they told us it would be an hour and a half until we would be able to enter. So not worth it.

Frequent flyer here, and my experiences vary. On busy days, you may not get any food. I flew out this week around dinner time, and all of the food was cleaned out, and no water bottles. I don't blame the staff because there was only one woman who was checking everyone in AND making drinks at the bar. The people who work here are always kind and courteous. Escape doesn't staff this place properly. At times when there is food, there's a chance the food is cold. I can always find a seat at the very least, but if you're paying $50 for a visit, what are you really paying for? If I didn't get this benefit with my credit card, I wouldn't see this as a place to spend money on the visit. You have more room to sit and breathe when you are at your gate. It can get seriously packed in here.

I travel a lot and use a lot of Lounges; I was excited to finally try SMF's new Escape Lounges.
It's small, and the coffee machine was dead, and the food is sub-par - although the baked goods were AWESOME (seriously tasty coffee cake).

That said - the staff you get will make or break your experience.
Jeannette is the BARTENDER BELLE OF THE BALL.
She comped me a fancy drink after I asked about the coffee maker and she let me know it was not a quick fix.

Overall, expect a small space without the best food, but a full bar and staff with full hearts (at least if you get Jeannette - you da best)!
