this place is a local haunt for generations. if you’re coming in, you should come in to chat and people watch. you can also quietly sit at the bar but it’s a small place so you will certainly be able to interact with people. locals are mostly coming through to see each other and catch up quick. karaoke during the week sometimes (i think monday!) the drinks are very cheap. highly recommend

So, for people visiting in the summer to talkeetna wanting to enjoy local dishes. Don't skip the hide away treasure called The Wildflower.

The original owner used to cook for our late president, George Bush senior. When he retired from cooking at the White House, he took his recipes and opened up in talkeetna back in 2001. I am uncertain why they closed their first place, but they just recently reopened as a food stall next to The Fairview Inn. With recipes still fit for the president himself. It's a must try for anyone who is a foodie and wants a taste of the alaskan fish. But don't miss out from there made from scratch desserts either.

This has been one of the most memorable places for me to eat through my whole trip here.

Historic building with renewed rooms. There is a bar with live music downstair. It is not a problem for me, but, keep in mind. Check in and check out very easy. I recommend and gonna go back!

My mother and I only had one night through Talkeetna and was lucky enough to find this historical gem. The atmosphere was superb and told a story of the past hundred years this Inn has been standing. And to top it off, we were so pleasantly impressed with how clean and organized the space was. We hope to be back to spend more time.

Great value and place to stay right in the heart of Talkeetna, and EXACTLY as advertised. Really annoyed at some of the other reviewers who complained about the noise and shared bathrooms. It is well-communicated that the rooms are directly above a bar, which they are. If you are staying on a night there is a live band, you will absolutely hear them. Check the music schedule online if this may be an issue for you. If you are concerned about the safety of shared bathrooms (whatever that means), don't stay here. Overall, you are renting a small room in a tremendous location for a very low price relative to the area. If you are OK with the quirks, you will love it, if you are not, just stay somewhere else instead.

We spent our Valentine's in Talkeetna! We had a romantic evening at Fairview inn!!! Wednesday night is open ? mic jam.... We had a blast!!! A few cocktails and slept like babies upstairs in room #5 we will be back!!! Winter wonderland in full effect! Neeto old bathtub! Sweet cozy rooms! Met the owner in the morning and he was super friendly and gave us extra special attention...and a Valentine's treat!!! ?

Booked this place for a trip thru Alaska, needed a place between Denali and Anchorage, distance wise we picked this place out of the blue. Very charming, not much info on checked in but the essential of shared bathroom and key to get in room and bar afterhours. It was very clean, right in middle of town, parking was a little tight but we found a place close, room was not much bigger than the 2 queen (full?) beds. Only concern I would have is they seem to have a band often and our room was right above the stage, so we didn't get to sleep until after band stopped. Not an issue for us, it was a great band and we stayed in bar until the band stopped but if parents with young kids booked it I can see it being an issue. For 2 middle age couples that had not researched the beautiful town and fun Inn we had a blast!

We heard that @CousinCurtiss was playing here last Thursday, so we re-routed our trip and booked a room. There are 2 shared bathrooms upstairs, which we were originally concerned about (particularly around checkout time), but we ended up not having any issues, and one was always open whenever we needed it or wanted to shower. The room was small but functional, and the queen-sized bed was very comfortable. Online booking and self-check-in was easy and efficient. Great price-point for a last-minute accommodation this time of year.

As for the music, we knew @CousinCurtiss and his friends would be on fire, but we had no idea how engaged the crowd would be. Everyone was dancing and having a great time, making this one of the best shows we've been at recently.

The bar tenders were efficient, despite the crowd, and drinks were reasonably priced. The locals were friendly and fun.

Definitely one of several highlights from our trip. We'll be back next time we are in the area.
