Came in on Saturday before Christmas for dinner with a group of 5 around 5:40 pm. We were able to walk in and be seated immediately. No wait and it didn't seem like there were many people.

We were able to order our food quickly and our appetizer and drinks came quickly. We got the dynamite shrimp appetizer and it was delicious.

Our food was pretty slow to come.... 30 minutes. We ordered two specials (parmesan and andouille crusted red fish), a ravioli, a kids quesadilla, and a kids pasta and meatball meal. Most of the food came at the 30 minute mark but the pasta and meatball meal came 5-7 minutes later. It's unfortunate because the kids need the longest time to eat.

The flavor of the food was spot on. The special was delicious. The only problem was you could tell the food sat at the pass for a bit. The perimeter of everything was cold while everything else was warm. I'm also disappointed in one of the kids meals coming later by a decent n amount than the rest of the meals.

With that being said, the flavors were spot on... I just wish things arrived promptly and without sitting on the pass for longer than necessary. I mean, if you are going to spend a lot of money on seafood in the mountains, then you want it to be warm all the way around and have everything arrive at the same time.

Food flavors were on. Some food was a little cold, some overcooked, and some delayed (unfortunately, it was a kid's meal too). A little slow on service and high on price.

We went here for my birthday dinner. The waitress/part owner was very kind and attentive to us even though she was the only one there to start. The chicken fried chicken was killer and she gave a birthday dessert 🎂. Cute, clean and kind service!

We went on a very busy Valentine’s date here and they were on point! We made a reservation, which I would recommend that you do, and were seated right on time. The place was hopping so I expected our service to be a bit slow, that was not the case at all. Nancy was amazing and really took great care of us our entire dinner! The food was incredible as well! We will definitely be back and can’t wait to enjoy again!

Read all the reviews so I didn’t have a blowout. Service was great to me, family owned and sweet, I think some people expect to be doted on or never have to wait when busy. Just relax and enjoy. Steak supposedly amazing, ribs too. We enjoyed the Asian nachos and dynamite shrimp to start. Opted for the Cajun combo for blackened catfish and shrimp étouffée, everyone loved their meals. Would def come back breakfast menu looks great.

The food was absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight, and it’s clear the kitchen staff takes pride in their work.

Unfortunately, the experience was dampened by the server’s attitude. They seemed impatient and dismissive, which made us feel unwelcome. It’s a shame because the food deserves high praise, but the lack of warmth in the service took away from what could have been a perfect evening.

If the service improves, this place could easily become a favorite. For now, I’d return for the food but hope for a better attitude next time.

We LOVE Fontenot's! It's our go-to brunch spot any given weekend - with absolutely everything on the brunch menu being delicious. Make sure to grab some beignets for the table!

Recently went for dinner around the new year as well, and it was a lovely experience. We had the shrimp scampi and the fish on special, both meals were fantastic, and even while busy, the service was exceptional. Sue is always a fantastic server (night or day!)

Highly recommend this place. Almost didn't write a review just to keep it to ourselves 😉
