Wonderful insight into early western life at this recreated 1828 trading post. Also history lessons on Spanish, Ute, American and French influences that continue. The lady who was there was very informative, and as an archeologist expert in the region gave added depth to the not just this forts importance but the overall region and developments of the last 400 years.

We were the only two there this morning. It was very interesting. So much history. The woman was knowledgeable and friendly, & there is a wonderful cat there to welcome you. I think he was my favorite 🤭.

We go to the fort every year after the parade of lights in Delta. I enjoy the past and how it efects us in the future. It is more of what we think of Christmas to us. Christmas Caroling and the lighting of the candles on the tree. How we used bartering to buy the items we need. And the use of the spinning wheel. And the stories of the past and a visit from Santa Clause.We

Nice place to stop and stretch your legs and get a cancelation for your nps passport book! Bathrooms were clean but not climate control.

I was in the Delta area yesterday for the first time, passing through on a road trip. The lovely lady inside the building gave me maps and wonderful information on dispersed camping in the Uncompahgre Mess/forest. So helpful and accommodating. Thank you!

Visited on a recent vacation and was completely thrilled with the Fort! The fort has been on my "to see list" of family heritage sites for years, although it isn't in its original location, the reconstruction is fantastic! I want to thank Chris Miller for her exceptional work with keeping the fort alive and making it part of the NPS
Old Sante Fe Trail.

We really liked this museum. The lady working there was very friendly and helpful. My small children enjoyed getting to run around looking at the buildings (we were the only ones there). The posted information was very informative. There's a turkey the kids can see close up.
Facilities are only a porta-potty.
Know that Google's address is wrong. It's 440 NORTH Palmer St. Leaving out the North takes you to the wrong place.
