Always a great experience at Four. We love to spend fun nights and celebrations here. The food was excellent and well timed for the courses, and Dave was attentive and on point throughout the night. The Chestnut Bisque was so delicious, the flavors were amazing and I just wanted more when it was gone. The Blue Cornbread is always amazing. Spinach Tortellini was amazing with the Lamb Sausage. Pork Tenderloin had some amazing flavors and being the first time I’ve tried it, I was pleasantly surprised. You can’t go wrong with the Brioche Pan Perdu or the Banana chiffon cake as desserts, they are amazing! If they have the Duck Breast when you go, it’s another main course that is so delicate and tender, it’s absolutely delicious.

Four by Brother Luck is probably on of the best restaurants in Colorado Springs! Each course was amazing and the wine pairings were perfect. If you haven’t been, I recommend you go!

Overall, this was the 5 star experience I was hoping for on Valentines day. The food was divine, and rivaled what I have had in Michelin starred restaurants. I will be returning here for future special occasions and I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for the same experience!

As a final note, the ambience of the restaurant was romantic, and the live painter who was present was a nice touch as well!

This was our second visit to Four by Brother Luck, and once again, it didn’t disappoint! We came back to try the new seasonal menu, and wow, just wow. Every dish was like a work of art, both in flavor and presentation.

First up: Tomato Tart – puff pastry, chipotle mustard tomato jam, hazelnut goat cheese, honey dressing. The pastry was buttery and flaky, while the goat cheese added the perfect tang. The honey dressing tied it all together in such a unique way.

Second: Duck Green Chili – The flavors in this were unreal! Potatoes, tomato, pueblo chiles, and that cotija cheese just hit differently. Definitely the star of the night.

Third Course: Herb Roasted Chicken Breast & Smoked Lamb Shank – We couldn’t resist trying both mains! The chicken was tender, and the crispy quinoa and braised pearl onions added a delicious texture. The lamb shank was melt-in-your-mouth good, with the blueberry BBQ sauce taking it to the next level.

Fourth Course: Chocolate Orange Dream – The perfect sweet ending! The chocolate shell cracked open to reveal the most luscious orange confit, with toasted coconut and candied orange that gave it that extra zing.

We’re guilty of pretending to be food critics, dissecting every bite, and once again, this place has us blown away. Definitely one of our favorite spots, and we’ll be back again soon! Highly recommend to anyone who loves top-tier food and service!

Quick summary: Insane prices, tiny portions, lackluster service and undisclosed "fees" - this is one restaurant in Colorado Springs to avoid.

Longer explanation:

I've been on a mission to visit every restaurant in Colorado Springs. Several long-term locals advised to avoid Four by Brother Luck, but it had great reviews and was next on the list.

We made reservations - on arrival were seated at a tiny table in the very back of the room despite the restaurant being only half full.

The menu is divided into four sections (hence the name four) with options for ordering either à la carte or paying $75 per person for a four course tasting menu. Pay attention here - the important word is "tasting" not eating.

The dishes here are miniscule. Our first two dishes were a tomato tart and blue cornbread. The tomato tart ($14) was a pancake measuring 2 inches round with a dab of sauce and two cherry tomatoes. The cornbread ($13) was a tiny slice measuring 1 1/2 inches by 1 inch with a dab of sauce - thirteen dollars for 1 1/2 square inches of cornbread.

Our second round of dishes were the scallop and chilled cucumber soup. The scallop ($15) was a single scallop with a tiny slice of potato (see photo). The cucumber soup ($14) consisted of - no joke - three tablespoons of soup in a thin layer across a bowl with a dab of crab meat and two crackers.

The mains are even worse. The chicken breast ($37 - see photo) was about three ounces of meat, two spoonfuls of quinoa and two cocktail onions. The smoked lamb shank ($38) was less than 3 ounces of meat sitting alone in the middle of the plate.

To be fair, the first two rounds were tasty - but the mains were dull, served room temperature with muted flavor.

We started laughing at the absurdity of the portion sizes. We politely asked the server if this was the usual portion and she gave us side eye before walking away.

The food was so meager we ended up going next door to Odyssey Gastropub for dinner after we finished dinner at Four.

The bill for a meal for this tiny meal - over $140....but wait....

Four charges a mandatory 3% "Culinary Fee" that they don't disclose AT ALL - not on their menu, not on a sign, not on a notice - unless you notice the tiny type at the bottom of the check AFTER they charge your card. Four dresses this up in language that suggests it is a tip for kitchen staff, but talking with insiders I've learned this probably isn't the case - it's just shameful way to increase revenue.

If restaurants want to add silly fees, these should be disclosed up front. Is adding 3% really necessary when you charge $15 for a single scallop? Just raise the price to $15.25 and don't risk pissing off your customers at the end.

For the first time ever, we were actually angry when we left a restaurant. The insane pricing, the tiny portions, the bad service, the undisclosed fees made us rate this the worst restaurant we've been to in Colorado Springs

Brother Luck is a chef trying to live on TV fame and expecting people will pay high prices for itty bitty servings and not balk at ridiculous fees.

Colorado Springs has so many better restaurants that provide vastly better value for money, better service, and don't gouge customers with stupid fees. Nearby are Rabbit Hole (creative cuisine), Bonny & Read (consistently good steak), Famous Steakhouse (fantastic service) and Adam's Mountain Cafe (highly recommend Adam's).

If you do choose Four, expect to pay $75-$100 per person for dinner, plus tip, plus tax, plus "culinary fees".

Being a foodie, I was extremely excited to try Four. The four course option was a wonderful way to try a variety of flavors, especially when you and your husband each pick something different! The entire experience was absolutely amazing. While our server was more cordial than friendly, she was attentive. The restaurant was sophisticated yet cozy, making it perfect for date night or an intimate dinner with friends. Every dish was perfectly delicious and combined a wonderful assortment of fresh and complimentary flavors. The Squid Ink Risotto was rich, with the chorizo and shaved serrano making it wonderfully savory. The Quail had a crispy skin that gave way to tender meat inside. The Pork Chop was thick, juicy and the best I've ever had. The Duck Breast was served what I would call "medium rare" and the perfect texture. The Key Lime Pie was not pie in the traditional sense, but much better. Generally I am not a fan, but this rendition was incredible. The toasted marshmallow meringue made the dish in my opinion, giving it the right amount of sweet to compliment the tang of the lime. Overall, Four is "10" in my book. Great flavor combinations, perfect portions and the perfect balance of textures to keep you wanting more!
