We can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience at this restaurant. The service is superior and the food superb! Our waiter, Jacob was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. The atmosphere of the restaurant adds to the overall excellent experience of dining. We highly recommend Grit. See photos!

Planned a road trip to get brunch here, and it was a great meal! High quality ingredients, delicious flavor, great customer service. The restaurant is also really nice decor. Highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back.

A bit loud but overall a great experience. The fried short ribs were GREAT! The sauce was sweet and spicy but not too much- I could still taste everything. I also had the salad with the fried chicken skin and it was tasty and a bit on the savory and salty side (there were olives and capers so duh lol). I wish there had been more eggs and potatoes because they were so good in that salad.

This is a very nice restaurant, but it maintains a lack of fussiness that fits the area culture. Cocktails, brussels sprouts, tenderloin, and duck cassoulet were all excellent. There is no kids menu, but they were happy to split a steak and fries between our kids, and our kids were happy to eat it. There's also a burger. Folks' attire varied between trucker hats and hiking boots to sport coats; most people fit somewhere in-between. Again, not fussy, but you could dress up if you wanted to. Also a nice heated ourdoor area and a bar with a TV if you were looking to stop-in.

Seasonal menu is always interesting and delicious. Wine selection is awesome and cocktails are yum. One of the top three restaurants in the Oxford area in my humble opinion. But without having to actually go into Oxford and deal with parking and students. A very nice antidote to the ubiquitous sports bar vibe.

Style over substance. Much of what we had made little sense to us. First, the good--the look is cute and our favorite things were the cocktails, which were really balanced. Now, the bad--everything else. We were excited to try after several recommendations from others over the past 2 years. Our waitress was very nice but not at all trained. She didn't address the issues we had and only said sorry at the very end when she asked whether we'd be back after our first time and seemed surprised when we said no. No manager came over even though we had to send undercooked food back and they "fixed" the problem incorrectly. I'm not even sure there is a manager here.

The food. Started with the roasted mushroom and arugula salad which was good but strangely missing mushrooms. It was good but I wouldn't order again. Also had the Creme fraiche ice cream which was underwhelming and came with an overpowering everything bagel flavored cone which was okay on its own but was terrible as a combination. We ended up eating with the bread we ordered rather than the cone, which made it better but not worth getting. Next we had the shrimp and peas which was okay but nothing special. The most I can say it that it was larger than expected. There was a succotash but strangely no peas! The sauce was overly acidic and overpowering. We also got the steak, which would have been the highlight had they cooked it to temperature. I ordered medium rare and it was rare on the edge of blue. I asked her to redo and they threw the already-cut steak (it came presliced) back on the grill or in the broiler until charred. You should never put cut steak back on the fire. It came out so dark it looked well done. When we told the waitress (who didn't ask) that it was cooked wrong both times, she said it was her fault that she hadn't told us that medium rare there is 120°. Having since looked that up, that is barely rare. I'm not sure, having eaten in many restaurants, why this one would redefine temperatures. Overall, huge disappointment and I would not recommend.
