I was in town for the weekend for some mountain biking when one of my brake levers went out on me. Assuming my weekend of riding was over, I brought the bike in to Handlebar after a couple of other bike shops couldn’t really help on such short notice. Although he was very busy, Jared took the time to listen to my situation and offered to replace my brake levers to get me back riding again. He did a great job, and it made my weekend! I would recommend this shop 100 times over.

These guys are awesome! I vacationed in Crested Butte over Labor Day weekend and needed my brake pads replaced after a gnarly ride. I brought my bike in just before closing time on Sunday. Despite it being really busy and just before closing time, they took the time to walk me through my options and even stayed after closing to do the work so I could hit the trail again on Monday morning. Great experience - thanks Dylan and the rest of the crew at Handlebar Bike Shop!

When you are on vacation in Crested Butte and something is wrong with your bike, it is a very un-ideal situation. I'm sure the guys at Handlebar are visited by frantic and single-minded (ie demanding) people like that all summer long, but they do their very best to be kind and accommodating. This is how they treated me. I had a wheel that came out of true and Jeff repaired it in a timely manner and for a reasonable charge. Jared helped me with a loose cassette on the spot. These guys are also mountain bikers, so they get it. They're the best.

After months of demos, marketplace attempts, and thorough shopping around, Jeff listened to what bikes I had tried and asked about my experiences and my budget. He pointed me straight to a Norco at his shop saying I should give it a try and let him know what I thought. Five minutes on this bike and it checked every box on my list and was right on my budget. I now have a bike I am in love with and got a great mechanic that’ll take care of her too.

Great shop, knowledgeable staff, quality products.

Go to ANY other shop in Crested Butte. Brought friends here from out of state to get a rental bike due to everyone else being fully booked on DH bikes, during our visit we were disrespected by the staff, including the manager. Not only is the staff totally disrespectful, but they also are completely lacking in bike knowledge. They failed to setup the suspension correctly or even check sag, for a $95 demo rental you would think they would be competent enough to setup the bike correctly, but no, in their words "we showed you where the compression setting was right?". Total disregard for the customer, there is a reason the place is always empty and the other shops are fully rented... take your business elsewhere.

Here in cb over the July 4th weekend and decided to rent bikes here. Called in on 7/1 looking to bike on 7/4 and they told us we could rent on 7/3 and return on morning of 7/5 for price of one day rental as they were CLOSED on 7/4. After arriving, the owner told the associate right in front of us that they were now going to charge us the price for 2 days for the rental- even though we were returning the bikes in the morning. We mentioned what we were told over the phone that their closure on the 4th wouldn’t mean we paid more, however the owner quickly dismissed us.
They were understandably busy in this time, and we don’t blame them for this policy; however to be brought into the store under one understanding to be told that we would be charged double left us feeling Duped and disappointed.

Super awesome bike shop!! My 2 friends and I needed to borrow a pedal wrench to switch out our pedals and the guys were very kind and let us borrow it twice- once to take them off and once again to put them back on after we SHREDDED on Strand Hill.

Thanks, guys! Y'all rock. I already recommended this place to a friend! 🙂
