No signs of wildlife at all except birds. The place is covered in cow pies, so watch your step. I took my dog here, and we had a blast exploring and found some old bones! Not another person in sight for miles. I'd definitely visit again and check out some other areas!

Nice free camping site. If you are following GPS to the spot, pay attention to find a designated fenced in area. Nearby is a lake and a vault toilet. The area is very quiet. Lots of cactus on the ground, so bring a tarp or camp on the gravel. I like the one way in/one way out created by the barbed wire fence. Subway and other amenities nearby. Verizon service is good. It does seem as if hunting is allowed nearby so be careful to watch for that.

Cool spot twenty minutes south of Hugo with springs feeding ponds. Windy today here on the plains. Cancelled picnic. A beautiful golden eagle flying low on the way in.

Tiny fish, frog's, fresh water clams, FLIES THAT DRAW BLOOD only 1 of the 5 lake's can be fished in 2 all Moss other 2 couldn't find.

Vast open spaces - however - in May, there was a giant moth infestation. The bathrooms were unusable because there were around 100 moths in each of them (dead and alive). The moths also found their way in the smallest cracks and crevices in our camper, and days later there are still moths in it that we are trying to get out. It was also very windy most of the night.

Great views and a beautiful sunset. After all it is free camping.
