Had no expectations for this place: middle of nowhere and mediocre reviews. Maybe this is why we were so pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and accommodating; the service was fast and efficient. We ordered the pesto omelette and the pesto chicken sandwich, and both were very tasty and fulfilling. The homestyle potatoes and garlic fries really hit the spot. One dish is enough for two people, the portions are so generous.

Really recommend this place if you are in the area with furry a friend (patio is dog friendly!).

Used to be great but they need to step their game up. Store bought super cheap mashed potatoes and gravy had a steak ordered medium but it came well done and dry. Canned corn and a warm salad? Also didn’t feel real clean. Very bummed!!! Used to be good!

This was my first visit to this Kopper Kettle. The one in Susanville is a much better experience. This one, the owner (I assume) sat us, and got water for us quickly.
The waitress (Asian gal) walked up to us, didn't introduce herself, didn't ask us how we were doing... just asked, "Are you ready to order?"
The meal (for 3 of us) was slow to come, and came at different times for each of us.
She never came back to ask how we were doing, how the meals are, and didn't refill our drinks at all.
Now we've been waiting for a while, obviously we are done eating, with no ticket/bill in sight.
Not impressed at all, except that the atmosphere is nice, with nice music playing in the background.

I'm not sure why this place has such high reviews. The food was mediocre, at best. The only thing I liked were the French fries. Those were amazing. My fish tasted bland (supposed to have been cooked in a blackened fashion) and weird. The burger and hot dogs weren't finished by my boys (they eat almost any and everything like these dishes; generally asking for seconds). My wife liked her chicken quesadilla. We had to keep asking for silverware, never refilled our waters, refused to figure out how to get the tables to join together (we ended up having to do it ourselves); the service was definitely lacking. I just expected a lot more based on the 4.8 star reviews on Google Maps and it was more like a 3.0 (it's OK; not bad, but not great). Not a lot of choices to pick from though, unfortunately (in town).

1970s menu: yep, HUGE portions and 1970s prices, very low. Super friendly service. We sat outside in the patio. Not crowded. Definitely will return again.

UPDATE!!!! 4-12-22
They aren't great at the diner type food. They will be hiring new cooks to cook the diner type food. But! What Chef Jenny is excellent at is SUSHI!!! Believe it or not, it's REALLY GOOD!!!
I won't order from the old menu. But I WILL be enjoying the sushi there! What a wonderful addition to Chester!

We came in as a party of 15 and immediately got a judgemental glare from one of the staff while getting disrespected with sass. Was completely empty and got sat down fast. Food was dry and soggy, bathrooms had only one stall and the door was falling off the wall. Overall did not like the place or the people in it, bless those rude souls to find the right way to success.
