Overall our trip and stay was amazing as usual. We were at first a little disappointed that our campsite got overcrowded even though we reserved it in advance. But the attendant at the gate was very helpful in locating us to the lodge and compensating our site pay towards the room which was amazing with a great view of the lake and Spanish peak. The Lodge restaurant was amazing as well with an over-the-top breakfast and wonderful shows the night before! 99 cent never be

Great staff and clean rooms. The food is excellent in the restaurant and is definitely a good value. The lake definitely has fish in it and they put on a great music festival every summer. I like the camp ground as well. It’s a hidden gem in Colorado.

We had a great time at our end of year family camping trip. When we got there we found that our spaces were not as close as we thought. We went to the office to see if they could move us closer to our family members The lady was very friendly and understanding in just a few minutes she rebooked our site to an open spot very close. Thank you for your fantastic hospitality. We will most definitely see you all again next year.

What a stunning venue for a music festival! This was our first time at the Caveman & certainly won't be our last! The music was incredible, the people are fabulous & friendly, the location is breathtaking & the food was outstanding! Had a wonderful time & look forward to next year! (Tip: Bring some extra warm clothes or blankets as it gets quite chilly after dark!)

First, kudos to the wonderful servers at the restaurant: Benjie, Callie and Amy. They were all AWESOME! The food was also great, even considering you’re off the beaten path here…We also enjoyed meeting Lisa and Brandon at the dock—they made us feel so welcome!

Now about the rooms: comfy bed, very soft linens and beautifully remodeled shower. BUT Severely LACKING other amenities. NO HAIR DRYER, NO CUPS in the room for a sip of water, no mini fridge or microwave—things you expect even in a budget motel!! (Which this isn’t.)

The setting is absolutely beautiful but unfortunately the room is so lacking it takes the shine off the visit…

I don't know anything about the rooms but this restaurant is easily the best within 50 miles. It is an amazing view, they open for breakfast at 7 (breakfast places are extremely hard to find in this area), the food is great for a reasonable price, and the service is great. We rented a boat and had a blast out on the lake. We haven't had dinner yet, but lunch was great as well. See photos.

We go every year to the resort! Last year we stayed in the lodge and this year we stayed in a cabin. Both were really nice! The lake is so beautiful to be out on in the mornings! We had dinner there and the food was yummy! We didn't try the breakfast or lunch so can't comment on those. Fun experience even though it can be a bit of a drive depending on where in the state you are coming from.
