O'Connor Pavilion is owned by the town of Estes Park. It can be rented out as a wedding venue through the town's events services. O'Connor offers stunning views and a decent price for a wedding venue. Although it is entirely DIY--meaning you must bring everything with you and pack everything out. Also the town has a very strict contract with threats of $500 fines for even leaving rose petals.

I expected to meet one of the Special Events Coordinators on site, but I was told in a short email reply the day before that I should just review my Event Guidelines document which gave me the gate codes. So we were completely on our own and no one from Special Events was there for the entire day. Take that as a pro or con depending on how you want your event run.

O'Connor offers two ceremony sites which are in open fields. So keep in mind if it rains on your wedding day, you just have to stand out in the rain and deal with it. (This ended up happening to us.) Fortunately, the reception area does have a spacious roof which provides coverage from inclement weather. It also has a dozen metal picnic benches which can be dressed up.

There are also two smaller coverings with wooden picnic tables and two large parallel tables. These two enclosures offer electrical hookups and lights, which the large pavilion does not. Unfortunately, the enclosure for our buffet tables only protected one of the tables when we were hit with a brief downpour. This left our setup crew scrambling to get things out of the rain. Obviously, the city isn't in control of the weather. But keep in mind this can bring challenges on your wedding day if you choose this location.

My one big issue was lack of maintenance on the dirt road that provides access. I understand there has been a ton of rain this year, but the road has a huge crack in the center that could easily bottom out smaller vehicles. We were not warned about this ahead of time and could not warn our guests.

So in summary, O'Connor Pavilion is a mixed bag. It's fully DIY but offers beautiful scenery at a low price. Inclement weather can bring challenges here.

I got married here and cannot recommend enough!!! The back drop for the two ceremony sites are STUNNING. While simple, the pavilion can easily be dressed up with lights and candles for a romantic atmosphere. It's very much DIY so I recommend having family and friends to help set up and take down, as it is essential. This is one of the best kept secrets in Estes Park as far as wedding venues go!! I spent a fraction what I would have for a seriously gorgeous place

Stunnnnning venue for a friend’s wedding. The wedding was the first weekend of September, so the colors were all the decoration needed. Very simple pavilion, but they dressed it up perfectly!!!!

When my husband and I get married this summer our first decision was that it would be at a venue where our puppy Petra could join us. I'm so glad we found the Pavillion - the location was perfect. We did not want to spend a lot of money or time on decorations, with the mountains, river and trees, this place is already beautiful! We also loved that the site allows you to bring in whatever food vendor you choose and does require the use of a bartender.
There is no internet or mobile phone service, but we did not find that to be an issue at our event.
