It is a very unique place with a very different past. I am glad that they haven’t changed the furnishings inside and have been able to keep the ones that were bought for the house at the time. It a great tour and it is sad that women were forced into this work. If you get there take the tour it’s worth it.

This place is absolutely a fantastic piece of history to this gold mining town.
The ladies taking us through the tour were soo knowledgeable that the past came to life. Walking through the door, the 1800’s comes into frame. As they stated, many gold mine deals were discussed & closed within those walls.
Everything here is exquisite & a must see for any antique/history aficionados. Even the door hinges were handcrafted!

We had an AMAZING time at the Old Homestead Museum! It was such a quirky and bizarre little place, and the history was fun to learn about.

This is the only former brothel I’ve ever been to, but it was charming. The tour takes about an hour and I think kids might get bored by the downstairs tour describing many of the original items from the home, but once the guides get into the story of the place more, it gets more fun. Definitely a cute stop worth my of a visit. Tickets are cheap!

This place is awesome! To hear the history of the house was amazing! The original oatmeal wallpaper was one of my favorite parts to hear about. The fact that so many original pieces are still here is great! Must see when in cripple creek!

The history in the guided tour was wonderful. Had my 6yo son with us and they were very child friendly. Tour lasted about 25 minutes. Well worth the stop.

So very well preserved . Lovely , friendly and well informed staff giving the tours . Fun to see all the old details and hear the stories . Fun thing to do while in Cripple Creek and very reasonably priced ($7 for adults ).
