Super cute tavern style restaurant. I love a theme and they really pulled this one off. It’s whimsical and fun and the food is great. Service was prompt and polite. Serving local ciders on tap as well. Definitely a unique local business I will keep supporting!

Under New Management 2025: Went for a celebration with our 9 year old daughter. Absolutely the best experience we have ever had with a kid friendly restaurant. The decor is awesome, the food is fresh and delicious, and the staff is fun. Will be coming back over and over again.

Wonderful fun family atmosphere! Food is fabulous, service is fabulous. Portions are just right; large but not over the top. Definitely our new favorite place to go out to eat.

Well, the magic is real and the food is really great. I was impressed at their support of other local spots, and thrilled to see the Elderberry cider on tap from Fenceline. I had an amazing Reuben sandwich, but I can't want to make this my regular spot and try the whole magical menu. 5/5 stars.

The new owners are very kind and friendly. The remodel is fantastic work I love the atmosphere. The music playing is great good tunes at a respectable volume the fantasy vibe is cool and the attire of the staff in that fantasy tavern vibe is a great change to the local atmosphere. Now on to the food, I have nothing but good things to say. I’m quite the picky eater but I have loved the food here so much that each time I’ve gone I have ordered something different and it didn’t disappoint! My favorite is the Mac and cheese the sauce is light and creamy definitely recommend it! And the fries are to die for soft inside crunchy outside! Each time has been a great experience with the owners themselves waiting on you and sparking up friendly conversation. Thanks guys keep up the fantastic work!

What a great surprise !!! The new owners have truly transformed this place into a great dining experience. Under the last owners it was one of the worst dining experiences I had ever had. I didn't think I would ever go back there. Today it was awesome!!! The food was fantastic. I mean really, really great!(That's the most important thing.) The staff really seemed to want to make sure we were taken care of. They were fantastic!
I'm glad a lot of your reviews commented on how family and kid friendly you are. However I would never classify you as a kids restaurant. I think it's wonderful that kids can experience a real quality and fun dining experience. I also want to say you are a great place for " just adults" to have a great meal and a great time.

The atmosphere was nice, and the service was very friendly, which did make our experience much nicer. The chairs were not comfortable and the table was too small for our group (6 adults). Some of the food was great, but the green chili was not good. Our order was messed up a few times, and one of us got 2 halves of completely different sandwiches. If you have a kid, I think this option would be very fun for them, but if you are looking for efficient service and high quality food, this would not be the place to stop.

I had the pleasure of eating lunch here with my toddler for the first time today and was completely blown away by the experience.

The first impression came from the atmosphere - The new owners have really taken this place and turned it into a real life fairy tale. The decor is so thoughtful and cute, the playlist is upbeat and fun, and all patrons were immediately greeted with a warm smile. The owners have really leaned into the fanciful fairytale vibes and have made the restaurant into so much more than a sandwich shop. It is just so sweet and magical.

Next up was service - Despite how busy they were (nearly every table was full), the staff was attentive, calm, and kind. We were immediately brought our beverages and appetizers were out quickly. My toddler was kept busy with crayons and wikki sticks provided by the restaurant, and the staff was super great about checking in on us and making sure we always had everything we needed.

Now for the most important part - Food. I was really impressed by their menu. As a vegetarian, I'm used to having very limited options, but Once Upon a Sandwich has multiple options, and they all seem equally delicious. Their menu is the perfect size - enough items to keep things exciting, but not so many that making a choice becomes overwhelming. There are definitely options for everybody on this menu. The prices are also super reasonable, especially once we saw the generous portions. We ended up ordering fried pickles, sweet potato fries, the veggie wrap, and the children's grilled cheese. The fried pickles were the best I've ever had anywhere, and they were served with a delicious ranch. The sweet potato fries were perfectly seasoned and fried. My veggie wrap was massive and packed with super fresh vegetables. It's not common for the vegetarian offerings at a restaurant to be anything other than an afterthought, but this wrap was actually delicious and super satisfying. I also ordered it with a side of their southwest coleslaw, which had fantastic flavor and spice. My kiddo loved his grilled cheese and the fruit kebab that came with it.

It's very clear that the owners care a lot about making people feel welcome and ensuring that everyone is having a great time. Service and quality seem to be a super high priority, and this is an excellent place to come with children (or really, anybody). I am so happy to have this spot in town and look forward to becoming a regular.
