Again, I must say that this place never disappoints! The steak was cooked med/well, it was so tender and juicy, I used the plastic knife on my steak without having to use any pressure. Lawd Hammercy😋
The hamburger steak was seasoned to perfection, and the gravy was just right. The salmon was reported to be delectable (I don't eat it), and the hamburger was even cooked to perfection! I didn't mention the sides. Just look for yourself!!
He webt above and beyond when I called back to inquire about changing my side item. Tommie and this crew are aimed to please, and well pleased is my overall experience. Thank you, River City Soul, for another great dinner decision. Did I mention that this was a carry -out? It makes the review even better 😉

This place is FABULOUS!!! The hush puppies are killer. The shrimp and grits are amazing. The spinach and artichoke dip is insanely good. Staff is completely awesome, we felt like family or old friends. Clean and classy decor and set up. My cup NEVER got close to empty. Love the menu! We’ll be back to try more soon. I have cheesecake to take home and I am thrilled! As a Food and Beverage Director in Tuscaloosa, I tend to scrutinize new restaurants relatively harshly, and this place is absolutely fabulous from top to bottom. Amazing experience.

The entire team was so sweet and the food was beyond delicious 😋 I highly recommend the oxtail. They were so tender and juicy the meat was falling off the bones. Mrs Sonya came out to say hello to our entire family and her staff was so accommodating to our large party on mother's day. We can't wait to go back and dine in with them again. By far one of the best (if not the best) food/restaurant in marengo county!!

We weren’t sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Due to the holiday, my family decided to patronize a local establishment and we picked a great location.

River City Soul is close to the outskirts of town but is located in an easily accessible location. There is plenty of parking. My only suggestion would be to have a larger sign that will bring more visibility from the roadway.

Upon entering, I felt like I was under dressed as the establishment is very nicely decorated with soft jazz playing in the background but the staff was accommodating and did not mention any type of dress code. I was with a party of 11 and we were seated very quickly.
The service was great given our party size.

I can’t even begin to discuss the food. There were so many choices. The wing special was the highlight for the majority of my family. We also ordered the grilled shrimp dinner and the rib plate dinner. Everything was cooked perfectly. Very well seasoned and plated well. We could not have asked for a better holiday meal. I will definitely visit often when I’m in town visiting family. I highly recommend.

Great place for families or even for an intimate date with your significant other. You will not be disappointed.

Listen. You know how you order wings and they are over cooked? You end up with like chicken jerky? I ordered 10 honey mustard wings as an appetizer and the Salmon for the dinner. The wings were cooked to PERFECTION. They were juicy, flavorful, the sauce was thick without being like mayonnaise. Even the presentation was nice! The poor celery though... it was good looking but I had no interest or room... The salmon was my main entrée. Again, you know how you go to places , order salmon and get like fish jerky or pemmican? NOT HERE. I barely had to use my fork the meat was so tender. And expertly seasoned! Every morsel was evenly and meticulously seasoned and melted into your mouth off the fork. I'm not exaggerating to state I closed my eyes and chewed it. I don't care. I am not a skinny man. I am not the smartest man in the world. But one thing my fat self knows is food. If you are ever near here, and they happen to be dining hours, ďo your self a favor. Stop. Relax. Enjoy your meal. Our waiter was new it was his first day honestly, but the family vibe, his truthfulness and eagerness and the FOOD! Portia From the Blackbelt introduced me. I owe her one. And I owe them another visit!

The atmosphere was very cheerful and warm. I had the pleasure of being waited on by Tommy the owner. He was a fun host and had me laughing out loud on multiple occasions. The food was absolutely delicious. I tried the fried pickles for a starter and they are the best I have EVER had, they set the bar for me. For my meal I ordered the three piece fish, the fish taste fresh and the batter was seasoned to perfection.

This is an awesome restaurant. We went on a Friday night before Valentines day. The tables had black linen tablecloths with white paper angled on them with a red lace heart in center. There's jazz playing in background. We had fish dinner. Excellent. Peach cobbler and chocolate cake for dessert. Also excellent. You can't go wrong with quality, quantity of food nor the atmosphere. Service is also excellent. It was so good we went back for their buffet on Sunday
