My review is based on my experience as a guest to an event and not as the planner of the event. The place is beautiful. We attended a wedding here and the patio added a sense of spaciousness and relaxation with elegance. The restrooms were clean but they are a bit far from the hall. It is an open space, not ideal if you're looking for total privacy, but I think that's precisely what makes it special. At night, you can see the city lights at the distance. It is a venue I would definitely consider for an event of my own.

? Beware of Salt Drift Pointe for Your Wedding! ?

Just a heads up for anyone considering or currently booked at Salt Drift Pointe in IB for your wedding or event. We recently had a pretty unfortunate experience with them that we want to share to help others avoid similar issues.

We booked the venue for our wedding on April 12, 2025, and paid a 50% deposit back in April 2024. However, we just found out that the venue does not have a legal lease for the date of our event, meaning they cannot guarantee the space for our wedding day!

Despite multiple attempts to resolve this and request a refund, the venue has refused to return our deposit, even though they are unable to provide the service they promised.

If you're considering booking with Salt Drift Pointe, I highly recommend double-checking their availability and ensuring they have a valid lease for your date before signing any contracts or putting down any money. The owners are suing each other and both wanting sole ownership of the venue, with a third entity wanting the space as well.

In our attempt to get our refund back, we were told that we just don’t understand what happens in business behind closed doors. Terry was dismissive and continued to not take any accountability, simply blaming everything on his co-owner Richard - what a businessman!

We’d hate for any other couples to go through this kind of stress during their wedding planning process!

My wife and I held both our wedding ceremony and venue at Salt Drift Pointe in Imperial Beach and it made our wedding memorable. They have a lot of equipment that we used for both the ceremony and venue that is included with the price so you don't have to worry about renting a lot of stuff. The owners were great and they answered all the questions that we needed about the venue. We also hired their bartending services and everything went smoothly.

Decided to have my wedding here on 9/13 because of all the amazing things they “say” they offer. Unfortunately, to my COMPLETE disappointment this venue did not live up to its appeal or promises.

On the day of my wedding the restrooms flooded with SEWAGE causing my big day to be cut short and all my guests having to use the restrooms next door at Novo and some needing to leave because of the sewage water ruining their shoes and clothes. The blame was then pointed at me and my guests when in fact it is the sewer system itself in this venue is what caused the problem. In addition both restrooms were not tended to and completely ran out of toilet paper. I was informed that the restrooms would not be something I needed to worry about. I was devastated and so embarrassed.

Also, the venue says they offer over 100 parking spaces for guests or that parking spaces will be closed off for guests but this was also not the case. My guests found themselves driving around for a while before finding a space to park. My in-laws also had nowhere to park.

In addition, when booking, this venue requires an assigned bartender and coordinator that they have in house. Both were terrible. I had Brenda as my coordinator who was almost nowhere to be found before the wedding and the week of the wedding, showed up late to our appointments and could not keep my vendors straight, and did not communicate at all to the point of me having to track her down everytime. She also did not follow through with putting out items that are promised in the contract that can be used for cocktail hour such as the jenga and cornhole when I had asked her 3 separate times to make sure they were out.

The bartender was said to be set up early but did not set up until maybe 20-30 mins before cocktail hour. My husband had to make sure that the specialty beer we brewed for this big day of ours did not go bad and put it on ice himself because when he asked the bartender twice to do it they did not. In addition, we purchased multiple items for the bar because we were to stock it ourselves this included different size cups for different beverages (for example: larger cups for the beer we had). The bartender did not use them at all causing some of the alcohol we brought to be completely unused!

Before considering this place PLEASE look into other options so your big day does not get ruined.

My wife and I got married here and we loved every second of it!! Beautiful location and scenery. Just note that it's kind of a DIY venue, you essentially rent out the venue space and then pick your all your vendors on your own. We hired a wedding coordinator, Ashley Fabrigas, who contacted all the vendors and made our wedding run perfectly! 100% would not change a thing!

Mr. Snyder is refusing to refund our deposit, he wasn’t honest about not having a lease for 2025. This will be an ongoing headache, we will now have to seek legal advise and look for another venue. He had the audacity to tell us to wait for a final resolution. I hope justice prevails and makes him pay everyone back with interest. Stay away!
