I've been seeing the same hairstylist (Christina) for about 15 years now! Even before she opened her business I made it a point to have her do my hair. I love it everytime and she's given me some great advice to keeping my hair healthy! I couldn't imagine having anyone else do my hair. The other girls who work here do just as amazing, and it's such a chill, kid friendly environment.

Zhjade is on point. It's very hard to find someone who knows what they are doing. I had so many compliments after she cut my hair. She is very good, I highly recommend her. This comment was from 2years ago and I'm still going to this woman. Her fades are still on point! I have tried a few barbers in Cortez, and most of them have a big chip on their shoulder and you'll see it if you go to them... but Zhjade is solid, and I appreciate her.

We are new to the area. I checked reviews and then called the Shear Shack. They were able to get me in within just a few days for a haircut with Ashina. She was great! Did exactly what I wanted, was friendly, and quick! The price for a haircut was very reasonable. I will be going back!

I’m new to the area and was scared of getting my hair done outside my trusted salon. I should have waited. Went in for a hair cut last month and got my hair ruined. You get what you pay for I guess….

Where to start? I guess walking into the salon- there was no warm welcome or hi how can I help you. I got a look of racism like I was in the wrong place. I finally get noticed and stated I had a 10 o’clock appointment w Jade. I was told to have a seat. I have a seat. Up comes this older gentleman and the girl who saw me walk up puts a smile on her face and in her joyous voice says hi can I help you! Um yeah no thanks…the vibe was off and the two women I met were not friendly at all. I did see a dark haired woman in the back and she smiled at me. I’m sure that was Jade. Kudos to her for smiling at least. And I apologize for walking out Jade. But that place was not for me. I will continue to go to Durango where I feel comfortable around ppl who have great customer service. Beware if you’re Native this place isn’t friendly to our people.

I would definitely recommend Shear Shack salon. I left a message after hours and got a call back first thing the next morning. Jeanna really listened to my concerns for my haircut and did a wonderful job. Great price, friendly atmosphere!
