This place does not meet any sort of sanitation standard , has the rudest staff you'll ever meet, and is more humid than Texas. This is all stuff i am willing to deal with for a cheap drink as a college student. EXCEPT, its not even cheap to drink here, just go to press play or the pub. Cheaper and nicer staff/doesn't smell like piss.

If you're looking for a place that serves drinks strong enough to make you believe you can dance like no one's watching (even when they are), this is it! The bartenders are like mixology ninjas—swift, stealthy, and capable of turning any bad day into a great night out. Just be prepared for your wallet to feel lighter and your inhibitions to feel heavier. Five stars for the drinks, and three stars for the questionable life choices made after 10 PM!

Every time we come to Boulder we HAVE to stop here! This dive bar is a true time capsule. It feels like you go back to the 80s/90s in an instant. This place is a little worn and grungy but that’s what makes it so awesome! Cheap beer, jukebox, & free pool! What else could you ask for!

Unique dive bar. Free pool tables until 10PM. Cheap PBR pitchers. Basement old school vibe. We went in the afternoon so not at all crowded.

Smells old. Dark and cool. Loved the vibe. Bartender was efficient but not socialable. But I would still go back. Cheap beer. Pool tables. 80s vibe. Hard rock and old punk on the jukebox

Calvin the bartender is exactly what you expect for a place like this. His great personality is just a huge plus. Beers are cheap, atmosphere is to be expected, and even though I don't play I should note, pool is free!

Forgot my card inside and the staff wouldn't let me back in without waiting in the hour long line. Tried the front door after being rudely treated by the back door bouncer and the front door bouncer told me I had been banned from the establishment for trying to skip the line. All I wanted was my card back.

While visiting Boulder from NC with my 16yr old daughter, we visited Pearl St and found Sundown Saloon on a Saturday evening. We were looking to play pool and bouncer at the door was very friendly and informed me to come back Sunday between the hours of 3p-10p. We did and were met with a rude bartender who did everything short of calling me liar regarding the “family friendly” hours and asked us to leave. It sucks because we were just looking to play pool while hanging out on Pearl St. We will certainly share our experience with family and friends looking to visit Boulder.
