I just graduated from the Bar Ink Academy and my experience was amazing. Lesli goes above and beyond for her students. She has so much knowledge and teaches you everything she knows. Lesli teaches in a way that you can absorb it and understand. She is patient and works one on one with you. It’s not just during school hours she is always a phone call away. She has this era about her that with me makes me want to work harder and set my goals higher than I ever thought. Lesli’s assistant Hillary is just a helpful. She will go above and beyond as well to help the students. I would highly recommend this school. You will not just learn the basic but you will be prepared. You will also be a part of a PMU family.

My name is Kacee and I’m currently enrolled in The Bar Ink Academy. I love it! She teaches you everything she knows and she doesn’t hold back. She can teach all learning styles. She gives you the confidence and the skills to keep going on even after school. She will even tell you what products she uses and likes. You cannot get a better instructor or leader. I have looked up to her for years. She has built her businesses from the ground up. She’s highly intelligent and highly skilled. She never stops learning new things. I’m so
glad I was finally able to enroll in her class this semester. I’m so glad I did. It is well worth the money! She answers every question you ask and never talks down to you when she does it. She’s literally the best. I love her to death!

I had my second appointment today with Kacee. She is a student under Leslie. From the moment you walk in they make you feel like part of the group. Kacee has done amazing as a student and Leslie is an amazing teacher! I have had my eyeliner done so far and am going back for my lips. They always listen (and know what you mean) when you explain how you want it to look! I will be recommending everyone I know to them!

Unfortunately and with a lot of sadness I would not recommend The Beauty Bar and Ink and I honestly thought I would be leaving a 5 star recommendation.

I went to Leslie to get my eyebrows done and went back in June for the touch up. While there I scheduled to have permanent eyeliner done on Aug 1st paid the deposit. She also told me we could do a third session on my eyebrows.... session would cost no worries, happy to pay to get them right (sadly they still need to be dark and filled in)....which I told her yes, let's plan on doing that! They rescheduled me twice. My appointment was then moved to Sep 28th during her classes so students would be watching. Again, no worries things happen I understand!

Now I read reviews and watched social media and picked her to do my service. I am an hour drive away, but was happy to drive to get a good service.

Showed up today and I really have no words for what happened or why it happened. I got there and told them I was doing my eyeliner and third session on my eyebrows. Leslie told me, "I don't have time to do your eyebrow today" and I said " you told me that you would do both when I came to do my eyeliner" She then proceeded to tell me that she was "accommodation me" and I would have to make another appointment...I confess I was trying in my head to figure out where to put a second appointment on my schedule and said "I drove an hour and it would have been nice if you had told me this"...I would have waited and picked another day to do both so I wouldn't have to drive twice if they had just told. I was going off of what she had originally told me and had no idea that wasn't still the same. Next thing I know she tells the girl at the desk to give me my deposit back and I could find some place else. I was never asked if I would still like to do my eyeliner and schedule my eyebrows for later. I would have said yes and figured it out. I never once got mad or was rude and really didn't understand what even happened or why I was basically being kicked out and didn't know why.

If you choose to use their services I truly hope you are met with kindness and grace.

Edited to clear up some things from their responds.

1. I would have happily scheduled a 3rd eye brow appointment if you had told me that was what I needed to do. I can only go off of what you tell me.
2. I was told the first time that you rescheduled that you were starting your first day of school that day and your weren’t available that morning, but could schedule me that afternoon. I declined because afternoons are not good for me. The second time you rescheduled I was told that you were going to be in a wedding and needed to rescheduled. I was offer a Thursday that was sooner; I declined it because my dad was going to be in the hospital that week. NEVER was I ever offered a weekend appointment! I would have taken that in a heartbeat! Let me say this again. …you never offered me a weekend appointment!
3. I do not mind filling out paperwork. I only asked if you needed my driver’s license because you had scanned it a few months back. I told you and the receptionist that I did not mind filling out the paperwork twice and you told me not to worry about it. I was never frustrated.
4. I did not tell you over and over that I drive over an hour; I told you twice…Once when I was standing at the desk and once when I once at the door leaving where you had stopped me, I wouldn’t have said anything the second time if you hadn’t stopped me.

5. Again, I never said “that’s fine, but the student better not touch me.” I did say “I don’t mind them watching me, but I would rather them not touch me”

Making me out to be the bad person does not make this situation right. To be honest, it sounds like you had a bad day and needed to fix the communication in your office, but trying to make me out to be the bad person does not make you a good business owner. I hope you learn from this and don’t just try blaming other people. Hoping you the best in your business.
