Went looking for BBQ and chose The Hot Spot.
Found Tonja to be very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu.
Ordered fried pickles, they were a bit spicy but the homemade ranch dressing balanced that out!
Husband chose the brisket sliced brisket sandwich came with a bag of chips.
I ordered a slider with a side salad. You too

Ate at the restaurant for our anniversary dinner on Thursday night. Keep in mind, there are few quality dining choices in Sterling and we rarely eat out for that reason.
They seemed fairly busy for a week night but maybe there were early Valentine celebrants. The hostess was very pleasant and concerned about a shortage of wait staff so she ended up waiting on us and did a great job.
Silverware and glassware was so water spotted that it was off-putting. Food was OK. Hubby's cocktail was OK. My glass of wine was OK. Nothing memorable.

UPDATE: My husband and I went to The Hot Spot for a late afternoon snack this evening. Our server, Miranda, was very attentive, professional and personable which we truly appreciated. We split the pulled pork sandwich and it was plenty enough food for two people. Thank you, Miranda for great service and to The Hot Spot for excellent food.

I ate here this evening for the first time in quite some time. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a half order of fries. I asked the server about the garlic fries that The Hot Spot advertised recently on Facebook. She informed me they no longer serve them but she could ask the cook to add garlic salt to the fries. I told her that would be great. The server brought my meal and I never saw her again. My fries did not have garlic salt on them as she said they would. When I finally saw my server as I was checking out, I confronted her about the fries lacking garlic salt and the fact she never came around to ask how my meal was, not once! She actually blamed the lack of garlic seasoning on the fries on the cook which I do not think was the case. I explained to the server right before I left that if she wants to be a good server, she needs to go back to the customer to ask if everything is okay with their meal versus disappearing. She needs to learn to be attentive to her customers’ needs. Other than receiving very lousy service, the food was excellent. Some of the best pulled pork I have eaten in a while and my husband and I lived in Austin, Texas for many years which is home to some of the finest BBQ. Thank you, The Hot Spot for serving fantastic BBQ. You just need to work on your servers to get one in particular to become more attentive to her customers.

Awesome! I have fallen in love with the BBQ sauce. The meat is fresh and ideal. We had a sweet and friendly server. The only thing we didn't really enjoy was the Mac and cheese. It had a grainy texture to it that we couldn't place and did not enjoy. However, this place is a perfect date night stop.

Took the father in-law here for the first time. We have been here more then we can count. And it is always so amazing and employee’s never let us down. Always a smile and helpful throughout the whole time!!! Father will definitely go back again for next meal!!

For sure worth the visit. Great products. Attentive customer service. And a very nice establishment to kick back and enjoy a brew and bbq. The sausage is good! The brisket is fresh! The mac and cheese will leave you a mess. Stop in here of a the a few. Bring the kids, the dog and your grandmomma too! A great place to dine and the price always shines at the hot spot smokehouse!

Brisket was plenty marbled, cooked just right with a firm bite. The mild sauce was plenty smoky, a little sweet with good flavor. Big portion of warm corn bread was sweet & fluffy served w honey & butter. Slaw was refreshing.
