Pretty chill place. 1$ fee to close out tab. The decorations are pretty cool. Love the sofa seats.

The bartender made my vodka cran pretty good, so this is an alright place. Definitely for an older-than-college-kid crowd (30+).

Well I was walking my dog one night by the place and asked someone out front smoking for a cigarette they gave me one offered a light and a drink. Then I went in not knowing if my dog was okay to be there then the bartender asked if my dog could have a puppy cup which is whip cream in a plastic cup. D.O.Ge went to town on that cup and have to admit the place is nice and comfortable. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Our bartender Cher was fun, fast, engaging, and full of great local knowledge. Been to all sorts of fancy places and her filthy martini was the best of the lot. Having a kitchen would make this place perfect, but nonetheless it's a Tucson gem that helps make our little city the southwest center of weird.

Small, quaint bar. It felt quite homey. Pool table up on an elevated platform/"stage". A few booths near the U-shaped bar with tables along the outside of that U on the other side as well. Drink specials were fantastic, and they tasted good, too! I look forward to going again.
My second time they had an Orange Pineapple Cooler that caught my eye: OJ, pineapple juice, rum, grenadine, I believe.

While on the start of our road trip from CA to FL, Tucson was our first stop to see friends. We were brought here to The Shelter as we were told that the drinks were on par and a spot that the locals go. We are always up for a good cocktail and try to find the best places to go. The outside is pretty cool and an older building, but even better when you walk inside. It was like stepping back in time and the vibe was awesome!

They had a long list of Martini's and Halloween Specials as we came at the end of October. I started with a Bloody-tini which was amazing and I couldn't get enough! If you like a good Bloody Mary, this should be one to try! My second drink was off their Halloween Specials Menu and I got the Bobbing for Poison Apples. Let me just say the drinks were fantastic and you couldn't beat the price. I am glad our friends brought us here and would love to come back again in the future. So if you are in the area and looking for a good cocktail, try this place!

The Shelter is a great place for a 1st date or a 100th. Bring your partner or a group of friends and enjoy the friendly vibes, 60s retro decor, and amazing assortment of house infused vodka drinks. It's a hidden gem in Tucson and one of my favorite places to enjoy a chill night out with others.

This was my first time visiting The Shelter bar. The theme here is 1950s and '60s fallout shelter. All kinds of paraphernalia from that era is on the walls And the decor is based on the '50s and '60s. Kind of dark and gloomy. There was an average number of people on a Friday night. It wasn't overly busy, but my friend and I sat at the bar for 15 minutes before being acknowledged. We then waited another 15 minutes and still hadn't been served, so we left.

There’s a lot to say about this place. Great staff, Fantastic bar, and eclectic vibe. I’ve been coming here for a little over a decade, and can say hands down the Shelter is one of Tucsons best gems. The staff is knowledge, professional, tentative, and polite. Crystal, who works primarily weekdays (Monday-Wednesday), and Eric (Thursday-Saturday) offer a welcoming and fun atmosphere, and are unbelievably talented at their craft. If you’re in the area, and dig unique and unconventional dive-esq establishments, this is the place to visit. Tip well, and enjoy the genuine Tucson experience.
