The best restaurant in the resort. Don't bother trying any of the cafeterias on the mountain. Im not joking, our lunch bill for 7 people (4 adults,3 kids) was sub $200 (before tip), we had drinks too. If you risk having anything on the mountain you will pay over $30 for one burger one fries and a water. The food on the mountain is trash. My only disappointment is that we tried vertical tap on day 4 of our trip. We plan on having the next 4 meals here. It is worth the short walk from the gondola. Also, I don't write reviews, this is probably my first. I felt that I needed to provide a public service.

Food took a long time but my server Matt was very friendly and helpful. You can tell the staff is working hard. As always, we loved the food, even if it took a while. The firecracker shrimp was especially good. My only really complaint is it seems that the elk chili was taken off the menu, hopefully it comes back at some point because that’s what I came for!

We enjoyed a nice, slow dinner together which felt very typical for a more upscale dining experience. While we waited for our food, we had plenty of time to chat about our day and sip our drinks. The baked chicken dish was delish but our dessert stole the show. Save room!

Really nice location, keeping in mind when you pull in you go to the Guardshack, tell them you’re eating and you get to drive to the parking level they tell you too and you get the first hour free. I say that because I almost turned around when I saw there was a lot fee, and I just wanted food not special parking! Carrying on- inside has lots of outside views which keeps the aprés activity fun feeling vibe going; doesn’t make you feel like you should go sleep. The lively spirit and illuminating windows (thanks glass for the clarity and not the cold!) make you feel peppy. Food is great, service fast with a smile, and level 3 parking is up the stairs…depending on how your day was on the slopes, the elevator is somewhere I’m sure.

It was our last night in Winter Park and we wanted to have a memorable last night out. Damn if Vertical didn’t knock it completely out of the park. Staff greeted us immediately and sat us at a table of our choice. service was promp but not pushy, this is fine dinning and I expect exactly this. The menu had just changed and the selection was excellent.
One of us had the elk cutlets, they were beyond outstanding and was served at the proper rare doneness, many chefs would over cook such a lean piece of meat but it was done to perfection. Another had the NY strip which was much bigger of a portion you get at any fine steakhouses, done to med rare perfection and I would argue it would beat even the best steaks I’ve tasted in Manhattan NY, it was that good. I had the salmon with a reduction sauce that was simply amazing and nothing like I’ve had. served with capers and again, done perfectly.
The chef, Matt I believe, came out personally to inquire about or meals, our praise was high at his expertise, I was seriously surprised to find this level of cuisine outside of a large city. Zack our waiter was attentive, professional, gave great recommendations and saw to our every need.
Jenn, the manager came out personally to thank us for choosing her establishment and we ended up chatting for awhile as she was so very personable, witty and yes, rather attractive.
I think it’s not too bold to say that this is the best restaurant I’ve eaten at on the front range of Colorado. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Be careful walking in in ski boots. Very slippery floor that should be replaced. Staff seemed bored and lazy. We waited 40 minutes for queso dip that tasted like it was made from Campbells cheese soup. It was nice to have a martini on the mountain but when the bartender dropped off beer he slammed it down and walked away. Too bad. Nice property. If they replaced the floor, staff, and menu it could be nice.

The baked avocado was delicious!! The initial wait time was about 20 minutes but we were seated in about ten minutes.
The waitress was super helpful with gluten-free accommodations/requests and going over the menu with any questions. Definitely enjoyed the spiked hot chocolate and cider as well!
